About this listen
Munich, Germany, 1942. Hans Scholl never intended to get his younger sister involved in an underground resistance. When Sophie Scholl finds out, she insists on joining Hans and his close friends in writing and distributing anti-Nazi leaflets entitled The White Rose. The young university students call out to the German people, begging them not to allow their consciences to become dormant but to resist their tyrannical leader and corrupt government.
Hans knows the consequences of their actions - execution for committing high treason - but, firm in his convictions, he's prepared to lose his life for a righteous cause. Based on a true story, Hans, Sophie, and all the members of The White Rose resistance group will forever inspire and challenge us to do what is right in the midst of overwhelming evil.

Heartbreaking but real!💜
This was a fantastic story and a reminder of the pain, suffering, humiliation and worse, that innocent people had to endure because of one man and the ignorant soldiers that chose to worship him. I’m in awe of the bravery of the young men and women who made a plan and used words not weapons to fight for the good of humanity. I love a story that makes me Google stuff. For example, I’ve never heard of the white rose in regards to Germany and WWII so I looked it up. I’ll bet there are hundreds if not thousands of stories like this that may never get told. History is not my thing but every so often something speaks to my heart just as this story did. The narration just enhanced this brilliant story. Jonathan Waters performs these characters very well.
I highly recommend this book.

Powerful and Thought Provoking
Resist is a powerful historical book about The White Rose anti Nazi leaflets and the people who produced it. The book is so vivid and descriptive I almost felt like I was there. Resist is centered around the WWII era and Nazi Germany a very terrifying time. Hans Scholl and friends realize that being part of the nazi party was not what they thought it was and decided to challenge their fellow citizens to think for themselves and take a stand against evil and corruption. I highly recommend this book it is Inspirational. Jonathan Waters is an absolutely narrator. I received this book for free and this is my honest unbiased review.
