About this listen
The book that inspired a legend—the first novel in the bestselling saga of Redwall.
Welcome to Mossflower Wood, where the gentle mice have gathered to celebrate a year of peace and abundance. All is well…until a sinister shadow falls across the ancient stone abbey of Redwall. It is rumored that Cluny is coming—Cluny, the terrible one-eyed rat and his savage horde—Cluny, who has vowed to conquer Redwall Abbey! The only hope for the besieged mice lies in the lost sword of the legendary Martin the Warrior. And so begins the epic quest of a bumbling young apprentice—a courageous mouse who would rise up, fight back…and become a legend himself.
“The medieval world of Redwall Abbey—where gallant mouse warriors triumph over evil invaders—has truly become the stuff of legend.”—Seattle Post-Intelligencer

Story
In the beginning, there was nothing but endless flatness. Then came the Carpet.... Now, the Carpet is home to many different tribes and peoples, and a new story: the story of Fray, sweeping a trail of destruction across the Carpet; the story of power-hungry mouls - and of two Munrung brothers who set out on an adventure to end all adventures when their village is flattened. It's a story that will come to a terrible end if someone doesn't do something about it.

Luscious Elf-maidens, a roller-skating dragon, ugly plants that can soul kiss the unwary to death-these are just some of the ingredients in the wildest, wackiest, most irreverent excursion into fantasy realms that anyone has ever dared to undertake.

Paul Dirac (1902 - 1984) was a brilliant mathematician and a 1933 Nobel laureate whose work ranks alongside that of Albert Einstein and Sir Isaac Newton. Although not as well-known as his famous contemporaries Werner Heisenberg and Richard Feynman, his influence on the course of physics was immense. His landmark book, The Principles of Quantum Mechanics, introduced that new science to the world and his "Dirac equation" was the first theory to reconcile special relativity and quantum mechanics.

Wonderful Novel
A top tier tale, an adequate performance. Sometimes the reader made me laugh with his over the top character voices. I didn’t like that he would mispronounce the occasional word like adding a “V” sound instead of “TH” in the words “gather”, “altogether” and “brother”. Also a “F” sound at the end of “Red tooth” sometimes. A great book though, regardless of the reader and my 5 year old nephew fell in love with it! We called each other “Cheese Thief” and “Rag Ear” after listening and he wanted to hear it every night!

Very sweet and down to earth
I loved imagining all these ferocious creatures battling but then they’re all so small and cute in reality. The story was written really well and it had beautiful imagery and world building. The characters are endearing and it all feels very cosy and down to earth!

love this series, but...
the narrator reading this version leaves something to be desired - the performance is kinda mid. I recommend listening to the full cast version for a slightly better experience
