A Gotrek Gurnisson Audiobook

The Slayer returns. Spat out of the Realm of Chaos after an eternity of battle, Gotrek Gurnisson finds himself in the unfamiliar surroundings of the Mortal Realms. With no axe, no oaths, and no Felix, he sets out to find his place in this new universe…

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

This is the novelisation of the Realmslayer audio dramas, spinning yarns of exhilarating adventure that take Gotrek across the realms and introduces him to new companions and enemies.

THE STORY

Gotrek Gurnisson was the greatest monster slayer of the age, who met his doom at the End Times. The heroic Slayer stepped forth into the Realm of Chaos to fight the daemons gnawing at the world's ending and satisfy his death oath, leaving behind his companion Felix Jaeger. Now Gotrek has returned, having outlived the old gods and the Old World. Spat from the ruinous depths with his redemption unfulfilled, he emerges into the Mortal Realms, a strange new world where gods walk the earth and dark forces are ascendant. Nothing is as he remembers. His oaths are dust, and the lands are torn asunder by Chaos. Yet when Gotrek learns of human champions being elevated to immortality for Sigmar’s fight against this darkness, the so-called 'Stormcast Eternals', he knows why fate has brought him into this new age. To find Felix. For only then can he find the peace in death he seeks, but is there more to Gotrek's apotheosis than even he can fathom? Has he truly been chosen by Grimnir, and for what purpose?

Written by David Guymer. Narrated by Jonathan Keeble. Running time 12 hours 34 minutes approx.

this was an entertaining story, but the vocals of any female or sylvaneth was like listening to nails on a chalkboard. often times the screeching voices employed by the skaven were less painful than that of the Irish sylvaneth creatures that were almost unbearable.

I liked the story, but will likely try to avoid the narrator in the future.

holy harsh notes

That question is all I have. The only one that can reign in Gotrek's antics.

Where's Felix?

there a shorter version of this tile with a full voice cast don't buy it. this is way better, the audio is clear, narration and voices great.

another great gotrek story

You want this one not the other book with this title. This is a regularly narrated book instead of all of the combat noises of the other book. I wish I had realized I was just getting a duplicate though. I'm not sure how to get a refund on this so I guess I get to eat it.

This is the version of the story to buy.

much better then the audio drama! a all round good book that give a solid end to the warhammer series, and start off the AoS series

Just a good book for those of us that want more of the gotrek we love.

Was a good book. Great characters and good villains. Provides a good “around the worlds” intro to the mortal realms.

Into to Gotrek

Liked the story but the unabridged version is quite long. Glad however that the original characters are still there.

The characters are all there except one. Which is a great sign from sniveling rats, elven assassins and dwarves.

Does this story technically count as an isekai? Anyway, it’s a delightful romp through the Mortal Realms following the dwarfiest dwarf to ever dwarf who is separated from his home and everything he once knew is gone. I liked all the side characters, the tsundere dark elf, the wise old grandpa dwarf, the cheery but honorable human warrior and even the alien Sylvaneth huntress. The second half of the book has that Guardians of the Galaxy/D&D party feel to it.

Good, action packed introduction to the Mortal Realms with a lovable cast

Fantastic, just fantastic! this is where Gotrek Gurnisson destiny in the eight realms begins! What kind of destiny awaits him I wonder? Will it be a doom? or something greater? we will what and see, for thier is much to do and hear in the years to come. I shall await, and see what destiny.... brings.

A Destiny

To much hopping around, but could be worst. The later books are better due to a more cohesive plot.

Bit of a mess
