About this listen

The fourth chapter in C. L. Wilson's breathtaking, epic tale of magic, passion, and destiny....

Two lovers, two hearts, one soul.
Only joined can they be truly complete.
Only joined can they survive the darkness.

The Fey King Rain and his truemate Ellysetta share a passionate love unrivaled in the history of their world and a forbidden power that made them outcasts from the Fading Lands. As war looms and the evil mages of Eld threaten to rip their world asunder, they must fight to defend the very kingdom and people who reviled them.

Only by trusting completely in their love and in themselves can Rain and Ellysetta hope to defeat the gathering forces of Darkness. But it will take more than the strength of their devotion to endure. They must unlock the secrets of the past and find the courage to embrace the dangerous destiny that awaits them. Only they can save their world, but that victory might cost them their lives.

Loved this book! The author makes her world come alive. It was hard to take breaks from her story and face the real world. All I wanted to do was remain immersed inside this one. I just downloaded the last book in the series. I'm excited to read it, but I'll be sad when this is over!

Amazing writing!

I love the whole series, but unfortunately the narrator on this book not so much. At some points the narrative speech does not match what I had in my mind. This series would definitely benefit from being updated.

Great Story!

enjoyed the story but the female lead is too whiny. By this time in the story she should have her act together.

good but main character gets really whiny

I love this saga, you feel frustrated when the character are frustrated happy and sad when they are. And you can't help but laugh out loud at some of the things that are said and done, even in a serious environment c.l. Wilson can still but humor in all the right places to releaviate the tension that just builds up. Great book

I don't know why , the last book I had no problem, but this one I wanted to do violent things to the narrator's vocal chords. She had this sugary, syrupy sweet way of speaking that filled me with hate. The story was so enjoyable however I had to get over it. I am visually impaired so I have no choice but to listen, but given an option I would recommend just reading this. I feel the narrator needs to rethink her creative choices.

good story.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

maybe. If it improve or the 5th one gets better

If you’ve listened to books by C. L. Wilson before, how does this one compare?

1 -3 and I love them.

Have you listened to any of Emily Durante’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Just this series

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

yes. frustration

Any additional comments?

Books 1 -3 I was addicted too. I am struggling to get through this one. The women have become whinny and annoying when they are suppose to be queens. It feels forced and drawn out. I am hoping once I am through it the 5 th book picks up, but at the moment I feel the story should have been condensed into a trilogy.

disapointment

I have totally fallen head over heals in love with the Tairen Soul series. What an amazing story full of love and magic. A fantasy like no other that shows the absolute beauty of the Fae and the terrible evil of the mages. What a crazy and thrilling ride these books have taken me on. My heart is going to break when the series ends..........

I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THE TAIREN!!!!!!

This book ended on such a depressing note! While Ellie learns of her parentage Ellie and Rain basically decide to do nothing even knowing the torture they have endured and how close to death they are. Then Talisa and Adrial… it’s just too sad. This book seemed to move faster than the previous book and there were certainly some very interesting developments: I liked that they went back to Selieria and we got to see the Queen and King and that Gaspar Fellows’ role come to fruition. But I didn’t care for Ellie’s sisters being lost for like a book and a half and the note their “song” ended on left so many questions. It kept me interested for the most part but still not as fast paced as 1 and 2 but a bit better than 3.

Finally she knows about her parents!

This installment introduced the listener to the elves in a much deeper way, and explores their history and mythology in more detail. I felt somewhat impatient with this book at times, as it was obviously setting up the final climax to the series in book 5, and was slower in pace than the previous books. Still very enjoyable, and contains crucial information for the continuing storyline. Durante is ok, but not great.

Still excellent, but a needed more action.

adventure, action, and story are always included in the series but the overwhelming feeling of being over half way done with this series is horrible. Any body will love this (and the tairen soul series).

Simply Great.
