About this listen

John Barrett, anchorman for News Six at Five, has a problem. He's caught his producer skewing a story to suit her own prejudices, then lying to cover her tracks. The "accidental" death of John's father is also now in question, after the father's controversial testimony. And a young girl has been murdered, and John is the only one who can prove it.©1992 Frank Peretti (P)2002 Books in Motion Suspense Thriller & Suspense Scary

I have to say, because I listened to This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness the end of this story left much to be desired in some senses but still an amazing book. Frank Peretti did a fantastic job on this book.

It’s easy to binge listen—such a captivating story

A good listen. Kept you guessing..somewhat but overall it makes you wonder about how much truth this story really represents in today's society

Good

Maybe a little dated but a good story none-the-less. The reader is very good and enjoyable.

Would you listen to Prophet again? Why?

Yes. As With all good books you have to read them more than once.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Will maybe not quit on edge of my seat, but close to it. wanted to know what was going to happen next.

Which scene was your favorite?

The end. but I always lesson from the beginning.

If you could take any character from Prophet out to dinner, who would it be and why?

That would be hard to say, being as they were all good.

Great Books

This book is as relevant as ever today! With all the talk of Fake News, and the ability to easily edit video or pictures to skew “the story” in one’s favor, or to paint someone in a terrible light this book tells a story of what it’s like inside that Media machine, as someone trying to stand for Truth. It causes you to ask questions you may have never thought to ask, while consuming short snippets of video in rapid succession. What is the Truth?

I know this is a hot issue in these trying times. I see the heavy responsibility of such things when presented in a family setting. Our young adults need this reminder to be informed and in these decisions, they are not alone.

Well cDone.

This is my second time reading this book. It's much more thrilling as an audiobook.

Frank Peretti can really tell a great, captivating story and he's done it again! The narrator did a pretty good job translating scripted words and characters.

Quite entertaining. It's an old book but just as pertinent today as when it was written.
