Full of suspense!

This short is full of suspense with a love that runs deep. Mariana was ripped from her house 8 years ago. Kidnapped, alone except for her daughter, she is helpless. Ion was promised Mariana to be his at birth. Now his mission is to find her, keep her safe and become the head of the clans. But with circumstances as they are, will he find her, and will she be his? This is the beginning of a promising series. It introduces some very dark characters, gives us a love story that is slow burn and passionate, has so many twists and turns and leaves us wanting more. I can't wait to see what the clans have in store in book 2.

Narrated by Amber Bray, the story comes to life. She has a great voice for romantic suspense. With wonderful voices, both male and female, she can use her voice to give the mood of the story, add the thrill to the suspense and bring it all home. It's a great listen.

The story is good..

Mariana is the last living member of a mafia family. She was abducted at age 16 and has been kept for 8 years. She has a daughter.

Ion Petran was her intended since she was very young. He has searched for her since she was taken. He gets a tip and goes after her.

This is a good story, although needs more for me. I liked the characters and the overall storyline. Amber Bray was a difficult listen for me in this book. Her voice is pleasant.

Great Story!

Loved the story. Ana and Ian were great characters in the story and hopefully we will hear from them in future books. The narrator did a great job with this audio book!

Wow this poor woman has the worst luck! Great storyline with good strong characters. Looking forward to the next book. Great narration from Amber.

Heartfelt story of survival

This story was moving and heartfelt but what really gave it life was the narrator’s story telling ability. With tough as nails characters, this book was very enjoyable.

The princess rises

Mariana the Romanian Mob Princess is held captive for 8 grueling years when her betrothed Ion rescues her. This story is gritty but has a very satisfying HEA.

Amber Bray does a great job narrating!

Terrific Story & Narration🎧Twisted & Intense!

This is a terrific mafia romance, it is my first book by Elizabeth Knox and it will not be my last. I enjoyed her writing style and the interesting storylines she created which I found captivating from start to end. The characters and world dynamics are complex and well developed. Mariana Vasile is the daughter of a Romanian Mafia leader, there are several families, aka clans, with power and hers is a powerful ones. Woman can not be leaders in her world but when she was a baby her father promised her to the son of another powerful family. When Mariana was 16 she and her family were abducted, her parents brutally murdered and she was held captive for eight years, sexually abused and tortured. This was all done as a power play. The son she was promised to, Ion Petran, never gave up looking for her, it took him eight years but he finds her and rescues her. Mariana went thru hell at the hands of a monster, she came out of it with a beautiful daughter which gave her the strength to survive. I liked how well plotted this story is and how everything went down, there are some dark and twisted moments as well drama, angst, action, some suspenseful moments that takes you to the edge of your seat and a nice build up of trust to a loving relationship between Mariana and Ion. Thank you Elizabeth Knox for this great story, I am looking forward to what comes next in “The Clans” world.

I listened to the Audible edition, Amber Bray is a wonderful narrator and a versatile voice performer. She brings these characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. She does an amazing job covering both male and female roles making your think there is more than one narrator. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Excellent book!

This book was really good. Mariana was promised to another, Ilio, when she was born. Another kidnapped her and she was held captive for eight long years. The villain also impregnated her and wanted nothing to do with the child. He also abused her in other ways. My heart went out to Mariana but she emerged stronger for it. I highly recommend this book.

Amber Bray did a great job with the narration. I received I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Intense read!

I loved this book it was intense, dark, and it had a few twists that keep me wanting more. I cant wait to see where this series goes. The narration really brought this book to life it was amazing. AudiobookObsession
