Wow what a Story!!! 🩷

Hands down one of my favorites. Loved it. I couldn't put it down!! 🩷 Can't wait for the rest of the series. This needs to be a movie. Desmier and Anastacia. This one you will listen to it over and over. Great story! Performance was excellent, story was nail-biting, overall 5 stars.

The twists and turns in this story were well done. I enjoyed the pace and progression of the characters. My only "criticism" is that Sarah Puckett sounds so much older than Michael Gallagher, but both narrators did an excellent job on this.

I can't wait for the next book in the series!

This action-packed listen wasn’t absolutely perfect, but it grabbed my attention, hooked me in from the start and I really enjoyed it!!

Twenty-eight yr old Desmier and nineteen yr old Anastasia’s story is not a love triangle.. but a twisted rollercoaster of revenge, lies, secrets, betrayal, combustible chemistry, angst, mystery, a discovering of truths, murder and a united love overcoming enemies. Anastasia’s hand was given in a Brotherhood of Knights Bratva contract signed in blood to a firstborn son.. but that son is not the one she thinks she loves who’s standing at the alter. Instead, handsome ruthless ba$tard son Desmier will claim his rights.. will be a virgin’s first and last.. will get his revenge.. will open her naive sheltered eyes.. and will fall in love with his enemy’s daughter. Anastasia was just groomed to be a sacrificial pawn.. but, through her twisted journey of revelations, she will become so so much more. This isn’t an ‘insta’ romance - Desmier makes his claims, throws spanners in the enemy’s sinister plans and takes the bride. However, he also waits a few weeks where there’s a time of friction and fire and a time of getting closer for them. And then he becomes obsessed and protective, Anastasia is strong, she starts to understand, empathize, care and fall in love with her damaged fiancé. And then comes their long-awaited wedding vows. There’s sizzles and some hot steam and OW/OM drama but no cheating. It does finish with a happy ending.. but a villain is yet to be caught - so does book 2 continue through someone else’s story 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Worth a credit? Yes, I thought the drama, action, family angst and chemistry expanded into a really really good listen. Ok some parts were a wee bit predictable, but then there’s surprises in there too and a “meh” who cares flaw or two which didn’t spoil anything. The drama and mystery flowed well.. the romance had a nice grumble and growth to it.. the cold-hearted hero was redeemable.. the heroine wasn’t stupid and the dual POV narration was good.

Great storyline

Normally I cannot listen to books that I have not read first, but I did with this one and I absolutely loved it.

Amazing plot

There were so many layers to this story with secrets and lies that unfolded masterfully. Even when I thought everything was out in the open, Faith Summers said hold my beer!

What I also liked was the progression of Anastasia and Desmier's relationship. The added element of her feelings for his brother (the jilted groom) created an extra layer of complication that I enjoyed.
