My favorite book in Audible

The story is timeless and never tires the listener. The narrator is exceptional as well.

Very well done

I have read Pride and Prejudice every summer since I was 15. Even knowing how things will turn out does not make the book any less enjoyable. Jane Austen created some truly wonderful characters, with whom it is always a pleasure to visit. I have high praise for the narrator. She handles the voices so well, and gives each character a distinct personality. Her interpretations of Mrs. Bennett and Mr. Collins alone would make the purchase of this audiobook worthwhile.

There's a Better Narrator

I would never discourage anyone from experiencing "Pride and Prejudice", but this is not my favorite available narration of the book. The book is unequaled in pure enjoyment and excellent writing, but I prefer the version presented by Irene Sutcliffe. She has a lighter voice that is more appropriate to the tone of Jane Austen.
By all means, get this book. But sample the other narrator first.

Kate Reading is a superb narrator, expressing the author's intent brilliantly. Kate Reading makes the characters come vividly alive, even if you have read the book many times before and already have your own images of the characters.
It is a pleasure to listen to this version of Pride and Prejudice. I have found it entirely engrossing and recommend this version of P & P highly.

Just beautiful

Wonderfully read. I've read the book a number of times, and have watched the BBC adaptation (written by Andrew Davies) even more often. But my enjoyment of this audioversion outstripped all previous delight. I cannot recommend it too highly.

I adored this! I'd always wanted to read Pride and Prejudice. I bought this book as Whispersync and it worked out perfectly to listen to large sections on my commute and still be able to read a bit on the weekends. Even though I already knew the basic storyline, I still felt quite a bit of suspense as to how Lizzie and Darcy would ever get together. The narration was superb. Highly recommended!

Excellent Narrator

Pride and Prejudice is one of my favourite books and I read it regularly. So, my greatest concern in downloading this audiobook was whether or not the narrator would do credit to the work or not. I am happy to report that she does. Kate Reading does a wonderful job of voicing the various characters, making it easy to discern which character is saying what dialogue. Not only are the characters distinctly voiced but Reading obviously knows them intimately, for her performance of each is exactly in line with Austen's description of them. Kitty is truly fretful. Mr. Darcy is dignified and reserved. Elizabeth is lively. In fact, Reading was such an excellent narrator that I am disappointed that there are no other Jane Austen works narrated by her.

Excellent reader; Great novel

Pride and Prejudice is the 4th unabridged Austen novel to which I have listened and is the best of an excellent lot. Her novels are very witty and have an amazingly modern sensibility. The reader here is exceptional--one of the best I have encountered.

Narrator brings Austin's characters to life

Pride and Prejudice is an all time favorite book, with its many wonderful characters and romantic story. Kate Reading is outstanding as the narrator, and does a particularly brilliant portryal of Mrs. Bennet, the heroine's hilarious mother.
