About this listen

Desperate times call for desperate measures, like seeking a mail order groom.

Saul McCormick isn't the kind of man who believes in fairy tales like love or trust. After a terrible breakup left him publicly on the ropes, Saul disappeared to the mountains to find himself again. He's just not ready to do people again yet.

Kyler Nielson thought he had it made at the Tall Oaks Country Club, until he was suddenly canned. Stuck trying to keep his father in a comfortable living facility for dementia patients, Kyler needs cash now. Mail Misters, an online mail order groom service, is waving the green in his face. Can it be that bad?

With Kyler desperate for cash and Saul desperate for companionship, the two seem like a perfect match. But Hollywood just won’t let go of Saul’s name, and Kyler can’t help but notice the seclusion isn’t great for his soon-to-be fake husband. Unfortunately, the city means exposure - and they can’t have that.

These two are brought together to fake it until they make it. But when Saul's trust fund is put in jeopardy, can they make things work for real?

Love wins in the end

Saul and Kyler come together for monetary reasons. Saul wants to protect his inheritance. Kyler needs money to provide medical care for his dad. Kyler has lost his job and is truly desperate. An online mail order groom service is the answer for the both of them. Saul makes Kyler sign a detailed contract. The most critical part of the contract says Kyler cannot fall in love with Saul. Good intentions are great, but they don’t take emotions into account. Saul and Kyler get married. As they begin their lives together, things don’t go as planned. They grow closer and closer together. Kyler meets Saul’s parents and Saul meets Kyler ‘s dad. The two men become a real couple. Hearts become involved, although neither man knows how to admit that. This is a story you want to explore more deeply. Fall in love with these two men, as they fully recognize their love for each other. You’ll love the narration by Ben Prendergast. Thanks, Aiden, for another great story.

Title should of been Always Yours!

Great story of an Omega falling on hard times and decide to be a male order groom to a uninterested man who don’t trust relationships anymore. But this rugged Alpha doesn’t realize he’s met his fated mate and spends time bedding him instead of telling him what’s most important to him. Their is passion and swooning and true love. The author writes the story as if your watching it in tv. a much needed heartfelt coming to Jesus love talk. And wishing for a happily ever after.

Another good one

I enjoyed the spin on the “mail order bride” or in this case husband. Saul and Kyler started with a marriage of convenience but this has soon change! I really enjoyed the narration by Ben. He made an already enjoyable story even better!

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B

Really Enjoyed

This was a fun, sweet read and I really liked these characters and a bit of a new tale on a mail order spouse! Kyler and Saul couldn’t be more different and yet they are so perfect for each other! I really enjoyed the narration, I think the Ben Prenergast does a great job capturing these characters and bringing them to life!

Kyler is working to support his father who is in a care home, he’s trying to make ends meet but one sassy moment and he’s without a job. He’s a total romantic with a wonderful heart and when his best friend signs him up for a mail order husband service he just goes with it. Saul used the prince of Hollywood until the most embarrassing and heartbreaking moments of his life were plastered all over tabloids. Now he lives in a secluded mountain area alone and away from anyone that might recognize him. But loneliness and an ultimatum from his father have him ordering a husband. Both men are optimistic that the arrangement will work, but love isn’t supposed to be a part of the contract.

One of my favorite things about this story was Saul and they way he thought he had shut himself off to love but in actuallity he falls hard and fast for Kyler, even if he can’t admit it. I really loved these two together and the natural feeling of their relationship. These are both great guys who really do deserve happiness. There were a lot of feels in this story and it all comes together in a great ending! Really enjoyed this book!!

Good story

Pretend I'm Yours is a contemporary mpreg romance by Aiden Bates about a fake marriage that starts to feel very real. Saul's past keeps him from moving on in love, but he needs to start a family or risks losing everything. Kyler loses his job after a run in with a nasty customer and needs to find a new way to pay for his father's medical care. When they match together on a mail order spouse spp, it seems perfect to enter a contract marriage and keep it without feelings. But when they are actually together the lines between pretend and real blur... but will the revelation come too late?

Saul's and Kyler are great characters and their story is a great mix of fun, sweet and sexy. Definitely satisfying.

Narration is done by Ben Pendergast. Good job bring story and characters to life.

enjoyed it

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes

Story comment: sweet marriage of convenience turns genuine story. Engaging, well developed characters and a good pace. I enjoyed the natural pace the relationship took and was invested in Kyler and Saul's outcome.

Ben Prendergast is a new narrator for me and he's done a good job on Pretend I'm Yours. The rhythm, inflections and intonations are all good and work to bring the story and characters to life. That being said, I have become more familiar with narrators giving different voices (and sound) to each character, this isn't really one of those types of narration. The personalities of each of the characters are what gave the different voice more so than the individual sound and I found if i wasn't concentrating on the story I lost track of which character was speaking.
