Publisher's summary

They call him Preacher. And they call him when they need help. Now, a Mexican brother and sister have asked the legendary frontiersman to accompany them into the Sangre de Cristo mountains - to find a missing family fortune of gold and silver.

In a land stained by cruelty and war, the Spanish treasure has drawn the interest of a treasure hunter with ruthless paid killers as his partners. And by the time Preacher finds the bounty, bullets have begun to fly.

No gunfight will ever scare Preacher. But betrayal, greed and a deadly mystery are enough to have him looking over his shoulder. The caves dotting the wild mountainside are guarding an explosive secret. And Preacher’s gut tells him that whoever next claims the Spanish treasure will be the next to die....

Performed by Mort Shelby, Richard Rohan, Terence Aselford, Nanette Savard, Ken Jackson, David Coyne, Michael Glenn, Eric Messner, Christopher Graybill, Colleen Delany, Andy Clemence, Steven Carpenter, James Lewis, Michael John Casey.

FORTUNE (PREACHER)

This is another good book about Preacher. All of these books is good, some better than others. This is one of my favorites
I was 100 percent wrapped up in this book. In this book Preacher is helping a small group find a gold treasure. Other people wants it to. There is a lot of fighting and killing to end up with the treasure. This is a fast paced simple book to listen to with a lot of action and a good storyline. Preacher meets Night Hawk and Audi in this book. I think they are in later books Also. This is a movie in your mind style of book with several narrators (Dramatized). His morals to people

Just like the many adventures he has had before he comes up against the worst sort of people you can imagine. Our western defender of truth

Awful

I usually love the Johnston’s books but I hate the dramatized audiobook! I think it takes away from the story and is very distracting. I did not enjoy this at all. I will not purchase another done this way.

Disappointed

I was very disappointed with the dramatization of the book. The Preacher came across as a complete incompetent and I hope more books are not ruined. J Rodney Turner does a fantastic job as the Preacher.

A great series by W.W. Johnston and his son

Overly produced.
I would have preferred the narration to have been by one, accomplished narrator.

One of the better stories, but two plot convenient to unrealistic and too many plot holes

This was one of the first books where the woman didn’t gush all over preacher it was well done. However, this book was highly unrealistic in comparison to the events of the other books. I’ve noticed in so many other books. The opposition is immense they fight against many Indian Warriors, and in this book he had so much trouble with a couple of men who continued to get away with sheer luck and it made no sense. There even is a part of the story where he meets up with two random people who know him and they help him. How convenient is that that’s absolutely ridiculous. And the sad part is this whole book would’ve been five out of five, and every statistic if the devices in the story made more sense. Since when does his horse make noise as many times as we’ve seen that the horses extremely quiet when he’s up against so many Indians or other oppositions and other books? Since when does the dog get defeated by getting hit with a gun when he killed several Indians in the other book? The characters were great. I like the idea of the story. It just lacked realism because there are many moments where this whole situation could have been over with in about 30 minutes. I have a question why didn’t preacher act like the chest were full of goal and trapped the guys in there Why didn’t he kill the two guys as soon as they touchdown behind them in the forest at night? And why is the big mentally disturbed guy all of a sudden coming to the age of a woman because she let him touch her breasts this book is just ridiculous. However it is one of the better stories that’s more realistic I just would rather more Indians and more opposition because it shouldn’t take him that long to kill these feud guys that he already had the advantage of at the beginning of the book. This book was poorly done.
