Eternally beautiful teachings

The narrator is monotone and also goes too fast. It’s a lot to absorb, and it just failed to reach me the way I needed it to.

Hard to Listen To

Such terrible narration and… is it even legal to change the original text of the book as you please??? All the time the word Jesus is in the original text, in the narration is replaced by it or the author, which is NOT how Emmet Fox wrote this collection! What’s with this? It is disturbing to read along (I have the Kindle version also) only to see that even entire paragraphs are omitted at will. Why??? So terrible. The experience is bot okay at all. I would want my money back if only I could…

The narator leaves out the word Jesus on purpose and changes it with “It” or “the author”

UPDATED REVIEW: Too many alterations and errors to this very important and divinely inspired work.
The actual text in first paragraph 2nd chapter, "The Lord's Prayer is the most IMPORTANT of all the Christian documents." This narrator or Audible has altered the text to say "...the most KNOWN..." (caps added). I'm sorry, but neither Audible nor the narrator have the right to just willy-nilly change the work by the author! This completely changes the intention and meaning by the original author!
Another change in the Audible from the original text: In the chapter "The Wonder Child", Audible or the narrator has changed "..."believe that such good THINGS could possibly be true,..." the word 'THINGS' is actually TIDINGS. (caps added to highlight the error)

I tried to make a Notes in the Audible app and was not permitted to write anything more than about 10 characters. Seems to be a flaw in the Audible app.

I have changed my mind about this narrator--there are just too many important errors. His reading is also too monotone and he reads way too fast. I had to slow it down to .85. This is a text whose message is to be read, savored, digested to be understood. There's no reason to rush it. Divinely inspired, there is no reason to alter the text--much of which is actually from lectures by Emmet Fox.

Original review:
I have read the book (copyright 1932-1940), original publication, and am now listening to it on Audible while re-reading it. Immediately in the first pages, the reader omits whole paragraphs of the book. E.g. Pg 4, 2nd para first and second sentences, and 4th paragraph are skipped in the narration.

Additionally, the narrator sometimes reads without attention to the original punctuation and elocution such as depicted in the book by the use of Italics. E.g. pg 5, "This description begins by giving the gist of the whole matter, simply and concisely--that the goverment is to be upon HIS [caps indicate Italics in the book] shoulder." The narrator reads it without the Italics which omits the emphasis the author intended.

Page 7, 2nd paragraph, substitutes "resolves" for "revolves" which changes the meaning. The author was, of course, referring to Galileo's defense of heliocentrism (which Fox refers to calling it "the other controversy"). When one encounters errors such as these, one must assume there are likely to be others, and is cautioned to watch for them. I leave it to Audible to take it from here.

However, overall, this narration by Jason McCoy is quite enjoyable and it is very worth it to have the Audible of this truly marvelous book.

TOO MANY ERRORS / ALTERATIONS, RUINS IT
