About this listen

When a storm reveals a mysterious cave behind a waterfall, the young mystic’s apprentice and her wolf investigate. Inside, she discovers a secret place containing a pile of human bones and the young girl makes what could be a fatal mistake.

In this Legends of the First Empire prequel, we witness the events that helped shape the woman who would one day become Suri the Mystic, the first Rhune Artist, and a hero to a generation.

A good prequel to the Legends of the First Empire series.

Sullivan begins this by saying it's a humorous piece, but I didn't find that to be the case, overall. BUT it was still very good.

We see Suri and Minna together.
We learn about Tura's background, including a bit of her parents.

Suri and Minna find their first rol beneath a waterfall. And there...is a pile of bones. If you've read the LotFE series, you can figure out where this is going. Still, it's quite interesting.

Good Short of Suri & Minna

Not having read any Legends books, this is a cute tale that seems to give nods to goings on in the main story, but from the perspective of side characters It certainly does whet the appetite for the series!

Great free tale! Sullivan and TGR a dynamic duo!

This seems like a YA (maybe even a big child's level) book. But even an adult can enjoy it. I know I did.

Pile of Fun

These is 7 minutes at the front and over 35 minutes at the end that aren't even part of this story. The first part is a rant from the author and half the story time is the beginning of a whole different story to try to get you interested in downloading another book. Not cool. Totally turned me off from the series. Narrator performance was great though. Can't fault the voice actor.

Only half is actual story

I can’t recommend this story and the other books in this tale strongly enough. I love Sullivan’s rich character development and the way he linked the three series together. Also, you’re really missing out if you haven’t experienced Reynold’s reading. His various voices, expressions and time are the best I’ve ever heard.

A taste of the mesmerizing work of MJS and TGR
