About this listen
When an art professor mom and her pre-teen daughter rent a quiet house on an idyllic Adirondack lake for a full semester sabbatical, they become the target of two serial killers who believe the women are the reincarnation of a mother and daughter whom they terrorized to death back in the mid-1980s.
For fans of Stephen King, Lawrence Block, Joe Konrath, and more, comes a pulse-pounding thriller that combines psychological suspense with pure horror, and intense action--a thriller only New York Times and USA Today bestselling Thriller and Samus Award winning author Vincent Zandri could concoct.

Buckle up and settle in for a wild ride.
Paradox Lake is the 18th book or story by Vincent Zandri that I have read or listened to. After 17 previous reading experiences you might surmise, I had an idea of what to expect as I started listening to Paradox Lake. That was an accurate assumption, what happened could be best described as a rollercoaster ride in a kiddie park – as you go around you relax into a few interesting turns and a gentle climb to set you up for a quick trip to the end of the ride- except Mr. Zandri suddenly puts you in a hyper coaster and drops you from six stories into a series of unrelenting twists and hard turns. When you really start to feel wrung out from the adrenalin, he lets you glide toward the station and drops the bottom out of the track again. I guess what I’m trying to convey is this is a story that is staid and laid back until it isn’t, and the reader ends up on the edge of their seat until it is done. I listened to the audiobook version narrated by virtual voice, and in this case the virtual voice does a really good job with the story.

Storyline
Virtual voice was terrible. It was void of real emotion and it was not engaging.

Poorly written story
Story feels like it was written by a high schooler, poor character development and poor interaction with characters
