About this listen

Lipstick kisses and caviar dreams don’t have a place in my life or his.

Max (Rebecca Robbins) I'm a bad ass bitch. It's a truth of mine. I live it and breathe that shit. No, I'm not conceited or full of myself. It's just something I've discovered over the years. I'm damn good by myself, always have been, always will. What I didn't know is I can be improved upon.

Enter the equally bad ass and hella charismatic Deckard Camden. Who, the hell, told him to be this jaw-droppingly gorgeous, mountain of a man, in comparison to my little self, projecting a wall of defense that rivals my own? Nobody prepared me for the sensual words that would fall from his lips or the massive...peace he would bring to my life.

Damn sure didn't get me ready to be Deckard Camden's wife...wait, what?

"Lipstick Kisses & Caviar Dreams"

Paper Lipstick caught my eye with its cover, title, & tag line.
Max (Rebecca Robbins) is a sassy, rebel & resolute female lead character. A nursing degree to "Inked To The Max" tattoo parlour owner, such a cute name I love it. Deckard Camden is broody, protective, & a zany alfa male lead. A second chance romance with off the charts chemistry. Suspense is interweaved throughout the romance with underlying danger brewing in the background. Supporting character's play a instrumental role in this narrative. Ends with a perfect hea epilogue.

Narrator Nicole Rene's tone & pace was just right. A smooth & easy listen.

interesting

The story was interesting and different. I enjoyed being able to enjoy the full relationship of the main characters. I really enjoyed the author.

The narration was a bit hard for me. I'm not sure the narrator was a good fit for the characters in the story. I think things would have been easier to follow if the narrator would have changed the voice to follow the POVs.

It’s okay....

I tried to get into this audiobook, multiple times but I just couldn’t. I didn’t like the narrator or the story. Nothing against either, just the time of the story wasn’t my cup of tea.

Paper Lipstick

I am giving this book 3 stars which I think is very generous.

The characters are meant to be adults but come across as adolescent teenagers.
Their personalities throughout the book are inconsistent and the dialogue does not fit the characters.

There was no depth to the characters, and their relationship had no chemistry. Every character in the book is obsessed with sex. Almost every conversation contains something about sex.

Max and Deck's relationship is unrealistic in how quickly they got together considering they have no genuine conversations.
For example, Deck plans a dream date for Max... they go and she is excited but because he planned something amazing she wants to leave to have sex and complains when that can't happen. Another time they are hanging out with friends and she kicks them out to have sex.

There is a lot in the book that is pointless and does not enhance the book

The plot to the story is very thin and overall I found the book boring. I could have easily DNF this book but I pushed through hoping it would get better. It didn't.

What a blast!

I had to so much fun listening to this story! It's my first Sparrow novel. I love the development of the characters and storyline, and how the narrator translates her attitude and independence along with his alpha tendencies. Performance and story made the time fly by! Sequel?

Different but enjoyable for sure. Very well narrated. I will be looking at other books by this author.

no one messes with Max!

Rebecca 'Max' Robbins is the bad@$$ owner of Inked to the Max tattoo shop. She does what she wants, answers to no one and, quite frankly, can be a bit intimidating. Then suddenly, here comes Deck Camden and the chemistry between them turns Max head over @$$. Can Max let down her guard and give in to the mutual attraction, without losing herself?
Good story with a sweet HEA.

Max and Dec

This is a good story I enjoyed it. I liked that MC and tattoo business aspects. The narrator could use a little definition between male and female otherwise good. I would recommend this story.

Interesting concept

The story was interesting and different. I enjoyed being able to enjoy the full relationship of the main characters! I look forward to listening to more from this author!

There were parts where it was had to follow due to the style of narration. I feel the narrator was not a good fit for the characters in the story. I think things would have been easier to follow if the narrator would have changed the voice to follow the POVs.
