Refreshing LITRPG

I love the LITRPG genre, having read Ready Player One, Alterworld, Awaken Online, and all are very good. But The Gam3 is a bit different. First and most obvious is the setting, more sci-fi in nature than fantasy based. There are still some fantasy based aspects but the sci-fi inclusion opens up some very interesting story lines and abilities for the characters. It works. Secondly is the massiveness of the RPG world, it's big.....really big. I'll let you find that out on your own.

The back story of the alien rpg world, the politics and interactions of the different alien races is unique and fascinating. It really adds a nice touch to the genre. This is a very good start to what I expect will be an epic tale.

The characters are well written and interesting while Nick Podehl does an excellent job bringing them to life. I finished this book in 2 days, easily wanting more when finished.

Nice job Mr. Yap, I look forward to more.

Ready player one meets wizard scout saga

Fantastic story. Nick does great narration as usual. Cannot wait until more books are released. A new favorite of RPG-Lit

Must download if you like Ready Player One

I'm going to make this pretty easy if you enjoyed Enders games or ready player one This is your book it's different from ultra world I think it's a more up graded version and makes a lot more sense and it also has the potential for the series to expand because you still have the real world and you still have the virtual world coexisting. I'm excited for this series!

It's a good book, but not great.

It handles the cyber punk theme better than most. But runs into the same issues of most RPG/books. And that is it's meant to be read, the leveling up, is talked through and often. I found myself zoning out as lots of useless info was rattled off to me.

Mix together ready player one and fear the sky

This is a mix of many books and story lines alien takeover, virtual world/game and unlikely hero. If you like that stuff it's pretty good.

Unique story and great narration, need less stats

Nick Podehl is excellent as always.

the story is unique, and I am eager for book 2

my only request for the author would be to reduce or eliminate the full stats sections from the audiobook version.

this is something you could skim over in reading, but you don't have that option when listening.

Why wasn’t this recommended sooner?!

This scratches a serious itch for me. I’m blowing through these books. It’s a Great time.

Interesting world development but dull MC

The story itself has interesting with really detailed but still interesting world creation. But the main character is pitiful and tends to reply to everything with eh ok. It took two seconds for him to be addicted to the game and dependent to Eve.

Exceptional voice work

Great work, one of the best litrpgs I've read (listened to). Unfortunately I now have to wait for the next book. :(

A Must For All Gam3ers And Others Too!

If this is the state of LitRPG, sign me up. I love gaming and this fantasy is fantastic! The narration is just like Alan's energy weapon, fast and furious and perfect. The voices incredible! Now, I doubt non-gamers will get it. Too much gamer lingo I think, but still. I'm all for three or four or five more from this author!
