Knock it out of the ballfield

I was very hesitant about reading this book but after I got into it listening to the book wonderful book, she did a wonderful writing style. Just love it.

Great on Audible

I thoroughly enjoyed this book when I read it on Kindle. The audiobook was just as good. I liked everything about it. The narrators were good, too it was just as I expected.

This was an overall great book, I just wish there was more about the dad and uncle rivalry. Why was the dad in constant competition with his own brother? Still great read 👏

Change of mindset as possible with the right person in your life

The story itself was great! I would’ve loved reading it. I did fast-forward past the sex scenes. Oral sex can only be described only so many ways before you start roll your eyes. The female narrator was great when she was in character, but when she was doing the actual reading, it was like listening to someone scratching a chalkboard because she sounded like a robot.
I love that even though the male character was extremely rough around the edges he had a very soft, protective and loving side to him that only those he loves could see. I know a few men like that so it was believable.

Enjoyed

Loved hour their love just developed and matured. Loved, loved, loved that Lani was NOT a weak female, and that she knew her worth! Female narrator does great voices, but she needs to pick up the speed. If she’s not speaking in the characters voices it’s ridiculously slow as if she is reading to preschoolers (Male narrator was great too)Even with that, overall, I loved the book.

Ong JV is the man. I love these kinds of stories with twist and turns and emotions and drama.

Cries, tears, more crying then she cried again

The FMC cried so much, I’m barely able to comment on the book. I liked the story and concept. However, just as I sank into it, the FMC would cry. While it’s an expression of emotion that is ok and natural, it was excessive. I’m a crier too but jeez. It almost seemed as if she was too immature to respond to an intimate or sweet moment any other way. On to the next book from this author. I refuse to let this book simmer in my mental library 📚 of her books.
