About this listen

Ten years ago, Deirdre Tombs died. When she was reborn the next day, Deirdre had become a shapeshifter who can't shift shapes. Nobody knows what animal she's supposed to be. She's definitely not a werewolf. The Alpha, Rylie Gresham, can't force her to transform like other members of her pack.

Now Deirdre is considered an omega, the weakest shapeshifter in the pack - a vulnerable position when Everton Stark demands tribute from Rylie. He wants to be the dominant Alpha. The only Alpha. And he plans to make her pack submit whether they want to or not. Stark can make every shapeshifter obey him by force of will alone.

Every shapeshifter except Deirdre.

The shifter who can't shift is the only hope for Rylie to win the war against Stark. It will take everything Deirdre has to survive undercover in his den. But can an omega's will be stronger than that of a charismatic, deadly Alpha like Everton Stark?

Okay book

In this story about humans who were shape shifters. The characters were odd. The main character did not know what she was but had to infiltrate the bad shape shifter to stop his insanity. The main character had no shape shifting ability but decided to stop this mad man with 6 silver bullets and her gun, in which, she never used on him but had opportunities to end him.

SM Reine Does it again

What did you like best about this story?

I love all of her stories and this one so far is my absolute favorite. I am dying for the next one to come out and I will probably whip it up immediately. I started listening to her books about 6 months ago and I still have a few more to go. I've read the Prenatural Affairs series as well.

What does Dara Rosenberg bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I absolutely loved Ms. Rosenberg's potrayal of Deidra. She was a fantastic narrator and I can't wait to hear what happens to Deidra next!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this in a few sittings in my car on my commute. Every day I couldn't wait until work ended!

The Narrator...

I wanted to give this book a better score but the narrator wasn’t ment to read this story. I like this narrator but the story calls for a more bad ass narrator. The main character is supposed to have been beat on all her life and was a repo woman in the beginning. The narrator’s voice was too nice and soothing for that. Either way the story was very good and I’m excited to see where this goes but I hope they use a different narrator next book.

Omega is another hit for SM Reine

As always SM Reine wrote a compelling story which includes bits of Riley. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal genre. I do suggest though that you read her other series or you won't understand the understory.

Enjoyable

Interesting read in a different type of paranormal world. Some of the characters are hard to understand. Expected the ending, but still sad.
