About this listen

She's Daddy's little girl, but I'll make her a rebel.

They call me a killer - a felon. I spent five years in a medium security shithole.

I swore I'd stay out of trouble, but when I met Abby Rawlings, all bets were off. From the moment I laid eyes on her, I knew I had to have her.

But Daddy dearest is standing in my way. He thinks I'm no good for her, and he's declared her off limits.

Well, I don't give a damn. In the end, I'll make her mine.

Entertaining and Enjoyable

Any additional comments?

3.5. stars
An entertaining, engaging and enjoyable story with a HEA. The story pulls you in from the beginning and keeps you listening until the end. For a shorter story there was a lot in it. There are some interesting twists in the plot. Some of them were very unexpected. The story is unfolds at a good believable pace and flows smoothly. Always remember never judge a book by it's cover and there are 2 sides to every story.

Abby was a pretty good character. She just acts a little immature for much of the story. The man saves you from an attack and then you turn on him in a heartbeat. Shallow much? She does redeem herself in the end. Dane was a show stealer though. What a sweetheart of a character. A Bad Boy Sweetheart. From the beginning you couldn't help but root for him. He definitely deserves his HEA.

Melissa Moran did a really good job with the narration. Pleasant voice. Clearly spoken. Smooth even pace. Really good character voices. Even her male voices were good. Overall very enjoyable.

Good Story But "InstaLove" Too Soon!

My first Lauren Landish audio and overall it was a satisfying listen with a decent plot but the instaLove was way too soon. This is one of those stories that had elements I both liked and disliked.

Dane's character was great. He's just been released from military prison, and due to his charges, most of society looks down on him. He's just trying to get his life back together, but when he meets Abby, he feels a connection and begins to think it is possible for him to find love. Abby's character was just ok.

Overall, a decent story with conflict, plot twists, and some steamy romance. I would definitely listen to another audio by Lauren Landish. The plot moves at as steady pace, but the "instalove" was way too instant. I think it would have been more appealing if it didn't happen right after Abby was attacked. I know it's hard to develop relationships in short stories, but I like better when the characters at least know each other some before sleeping together.

Melissa Moran did a great job with the narration.

GOOD IS EVIL AND OFF-LIMITS, THE SAVIOR

Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

The books brief synopsis doesn't begin to describe the actual story. There are so many twists and mysteries that keep you listening well into the night. The writing is top-notch, developing well rounded characters and an easy to follow, intricate plot that closes seamlessly with a well deserved HEA; exceptional in an audiobook under 7 hours long.

Melissa Moran does a sound job (no pun intended) with her performance. No distracting individual's voice, rendering male and female interpretations with honesty.

Definitely a TWO THUMBS UP!

Overall a good story

Any additional comments?

Overall it's a good story but there were some inconsistencies that I had a hard time getting past. Abby, a wealthy southern bell has a snobby step mom that treats her like a child and only wants her around her wealthy equals. However, when Abby was in high school she was dating a much older guy, in construction work. Now that Abby's in college, step mom does not want her to hang out with a really smart college girlfriend because she’s from the poor side of town. What’s up with that? Fortunately Abby shows some maturity and stands up for herself. Dane, who falls head over heals for Abby, is a decent sort that has hit some rough patches and is really trying to move forward with his life. I liked his character. The development and twists of the story are good and made it interesting. My guess is that most people can get past the issues I had and would enjoy this book. The narration is great. I think Melissa Moran did a great job with the voices and at bringing the characters to life.

Surprised

“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audio book by the author, narrator, or publisher via audiobook boom.com.” This story surprised me. I actually liked it. I was expecting the regular good girl meets bad boy romance but it had a good storyline that was different. I am very grateful that some of the facts on how the military treats the soldiers after they get out were brought out. We as a nation should hold our heads in shame because of how we treat our veterans. We are a free nation because of the brave. Freedom is not free it comes at a cost. Dane was only able to get a job mopping floors. Granted he had a dishonorable discharge but the powers that be were responsible for this injustice. Yet I have another problem with the justice system and society. We send people to jail, they serve their time and yet we make them serve time after they get out because of the discrimination against them because they have a record. Then we say I told you so when they go back to jail. All they want is a chance. The narration was very good. I enjoyed this story.

Unexspexted and fantastic

Would you listen to Off Limits again? Why?

Yes. This book was well rounded and entertaining from start to finish

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dane. He was a sweetheart and a bad boy.

What about Melissa Moran’s performance did you like?

She did wonderfully with her narration for both POV's. She paces this great and kept me involved with the story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes. It had a lot of twist and unexpected moments.

Any additional comments?

I am not usually a fan of insta love type stories but this one works for me, because of the break between their meeting and reconnecting. The characters are well developed and easy to like, the story felt like a full story despite being a bit on the shorter side than the average 7-8 hour book. The narration was done well and paced great. I would definitely recommend this book. I obtained this copy for free from audiobook boom for my unbiased review.
