About this listen

They must learn to trust each other or humanity will fall....

On a distant planet outside the reach of the Confederation, Garret Cushing finds himself in dire straits. Struggling with a guilty conscience and his life in the balance, he decides to do the unthinkable: turn himself over to the Confederation in exchange for protection.

As a witness to a decades-long conspiracy, he could save millions of lives. But first, he has to get off Bastia alive.

The only way is with the aid of the Confederation, the organization that wants him dead.

Enemies are forced to trust one another as they fight their way across the galaxy in an attempt to stop a devastating war. If they die, then humanity’s hope for a future within the Galactic Confederation will end.

Conspiracies and intrigue run rampant in this first installment of the Confederation Saga, a military space-opera adventure for fans of Dark Matter and The Expanse.

Wow, just wow!

Wow, just wow. What an interesting premise. This is the story of ambassador Tella Spar sent to negotiate with a known terrorist Garrett Cushing for hostages. After negotiations break down. She's torn between what she saw happen, and her instincts that say she should trust him. And the story escalates from there.
So grab the book, especially if you like twisty poli-drama with plenty of action thrown in, because Dave Alexander and Ryan Kennard Burke have a story to tell you.

An enjoyable, unique 4 1/2 star read

Oblivion's Dawn The Confederation Saga, Book 1, my fifteenth read/listen from author Drew Avera., the first under the pen name of David Alexander. An 8-hour 4 minute/306-page enjoyable space opera science fiction. I was given an Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. The book was well-written & flowed smoothly & quickly. I look forward to reading more from this author and in this series The book was well-narrated by Ryan Kennard Burke. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Very Dark

Through 12 chapters and no hero’s just villains. Narrator had difficulty with varied voices of characters.
