About this listen

An apocalypse LitRPG about an underdog who must do whatever it takes to survive against impossible odds.

Stranded on an alien world. Surrounded by enemies. He must learn to fight... or die.

When the apocalypse strikes the world Kyle Mayhew calls home, he is thrust into a struggle for survival.

Alongside his Central Health Autonomous Diagnostic Drone (C.H.A.D.D.), he will have to overcome mutated creatures, ruthless marauders, and his grandfather’s legacy to carve out a new home.

He might even find that he belongs...

Don't miss the start of this Apocalypse LitRPG about an underdog who must do whatever it takes to survive against impossible odds. This rational, Healer Class MC will rise from weak-to-strong together with his sort-of- insane AI companion.

Back to the basics of the genre. Delivering everything the fans need. I enjoyed the light and the dark of the story. Can’t wait until the the world building and abilities are flushed out or expanded on. I will be back for the next in series

Pretty unique setting for a LitRPG. There is lot of portal fantasy and post apocalyptic scenarios. But we don’t have a lot of post apocalyptic settings years after the the main event happened. The MC is cool and the has an OP class. I just feel like the doctor occupation could be researched more. I work in a hospital closely to doctors and the way our MC spoke didn’t feel authentic. I really like the plot though. The narrator did a great job.

Interesting setting.

this is definitely a different take and I enjoyed it. doesn't get into much detail about the system or world, so you have to put it together as the story goes. but I enjoyed it very smooth in pacing only character I enjoyed was C.H.A.D.D but that could just be me. I wanted more from abilitys but just remember this is just the start of what's probably an 8 book series.

worth it

First the author claims Mc is rational which is the biggest lie. He will literally spend half a page describing the rational thing to do, only to say “damn” and do the complete opposite. Second mc is so bland to the point drone had more personality. Lastly the progression makes know sense, dude goes from lvl 20 to a hybrid lv50+ at the point I dropped, and he hasn’t changed at all except getting tougher skin. And despite being a malee fighter he never invest in strength. !?!?

Just bland everything

It could have been amazing but it just drags down so slow and nothing much happens. Very disappointing.

Starts off with a ton of potential. Drags super slow and boring.

This is a fun world and a fun story, but the delivery and dialogue are difficult to listen to. I'm not sure if it's from the writing or the reader, but every character uses a weird inflection that make them sound like one-dimension comic book characters from the 50s. I wish I could phrase it better, but I just found the dialogue, especially the mid-fight banter to be so cheesy that it would take me out of the moment.

I still listened to the whole book, and wouldn't call it bad, but I would call this a passing entry in the LitRPG/post apocalypse drama genre

A Cute, but cliche, Hero's Journey

Great start to this series I really enjoyed the transition from simple every day Dr to survivalist! Loved the duo team! Chad can be hilarious at times!

Great Start to a New World!

I loved this edge-of-your-seat litRPG. Kyle is a Doctor, a Healer, and I adore it when a Healer takes center stage! The book starts while Kyle is doing a wellness check on his grandfather the only D class human on earth. Just as a Cataclysm occurs, grandfather Clark saves Kyle's life but was injured beyond Kyle's ability to save him. But before death Kyle made an Oath to Survive to Clark. No matter the price. So Kyle along with his personal diagnostic robot, C.H.A.D.D. set off looking for other survivors. If you don't already know I love systems like C.H.A.D.D. as this spunky little robot stretches his abilities and develops his own personality.
So find out how Kyle and C.H.A.D.D. are doing as they level... yeah grab the audiobook and let James Meyers and Adam Verner tell you a story.

I adored this litRPG. Grab the book view how Kyle and C.H.A.D.D. get along...
