There’s something seriously wrong with me.

And now here I am years later, my life on hold, while I wait day in and day out for the call that Xander needs me. It always comes, and I always answer, but I’m starting to dread those visits.

Lately, I’m looking at Xander in a way a medical professional should never look at their patient.

When Xander starts volunteering at the same nursing home that I do, I get to see a new side of him. The artistic, charismatic side that draws the residents in. I get glimpses of a man who’s so much more than his anxiety, and it does nothing to help my feelings for him.

Lines begin to blur and I have no choice but to stop treating him. That at least allows us to be friends. The only problem is, being friends isn’t enough for either of us.

It’s wrong, unethical, and unprofessional, but my heart won’t listen. It’s decided on Xander, and it doesn’t want to wait. Neither does Xander.

But if I want to keep my job, I have to resist.

I just wish he didn’t make that so difficult.

Wow, start to finish this book was the sweetest and most amazing. Derek is perfection and exactly what we all wanted for Xander this entire series. What a *spectacular* end to this great series - I am definitely gonna miss the Bertha Boys, but, thankfully, I can read them all again!

😭 Sad it's over

I loved this book & series so much. I am very sad it's over but so glad I hot to spend time with these Bertha Boys. I think Molly and Seven will stay my favorite book but Zanders storey was amazing and the perfect ending. Teddy Hamilton was perfect as always.

This might be the best in the series. Love this series so much!! this group of brothers that each find love even though they are so dysfunctional. The perfect family. Teddy Hamilton really brings life to this series and each and ever character. The personalities that each book has is outstanding. 👏❤🔥

Wiping Tears

What an amazing story. Suffering from debilitating major depression along with generalized anxiety disorder, listening to this story of Xander was well done and healing for me.

Thank you for writing about a character suffering from mental illness. It’s still so stigmatized and just about impossible to seek help (at least in the U.S.).
