Normal?

Who wants to be that?

When Kelly Cutrone’s first book, If You Have to Cry, Go Outside, was first published, young people flocked to this new voice - finally, someone was telling it like it is, in language they spoke. It quickly became a New York Times bestseller, and fashion publicist Kelly Cutrone became more than a personality, she became a beloved guru, mentor, and fairy godmother.

Now she’s back with another no-holds-barred book to awaken our souls and kick our asses into gear. With Normal Gets You Nowhere, she invites us to get our freak on. History is full of successful, world-changing people who did not fit in. Think Nelson Mandela, Joan of Arc, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, John Lennon, and Rosa Parks. Instead of changing themselves to accommodate the status quo or what others thought they should be, these people hung a light on their differences - and changed humanity in the process.

“I know you don’t feel normal, so why are you trying to act it and prove to everyone you are?” Cutrone says. So much of what we say or don’t say, and what we do or don’t do, is dictated by what others have told us, or what people may think of us. This is not how we should be living, by measuring ourselves against the mundane.

An invitation to rethink who you are, what you value, and what you want from life, Normal Gets You Nowhere goes beyond how to reinvent yourself and create your own brand, and investigates what it means to live in this world as a tuned-in, caring individual with a passion for making a difference. There’s already an army of super talented uberfreaks changing the world–isn’t it time you joined it time you joined them?

Kween Kelly!

So amazing to hear the true emotion behind the authors words by having it read by the author! This book is honest and a real kick in the ass for a 21 year old wandering soul like myself.

Kell Strikes Again!

Have read the hardcover version of this book multiple times and just discovered the audio version. Kell keeps it real and her soothing voice adds power to her already powerful words. A great listen!

This is nothing short of phenomenal.

I can't stop gushing -- I'm s SMITTEN with this book!!!She is so smart, so cool, so funny, so knowledgeable and so strong.
Best book I've read in a decade. And I'm quite the book whore.
I highly recommend this, and I listen to it every few months again to regroup.
There's so much that is applicable to life. Please get this and tell people how great it is. She's like a female Anthony Bourdain- maybe stronger. I adored this. It's my go-to.
She's a goddess.

Who knew Kell on Earth was a Yogi

i know that I will definitely mention this book to those friends who loved her no nonsense, tough love approach to life and business on Bravo's "Kell on Earth." She is pretty fierce and I like that about her, although come to think of it - I'm probably too normal for her and she's probably too intense for me....I consider myself spiritual and this book felt a little preachy at times. Despite that, this was an audio that I finished in 1 day. It is interesting and Kelly Cutrone is anything but boring. I'm glad I listened to it. There are some worthy bits to this audio and other bits that are just hard to buy into. My last comment is that Kelly Cutrone has now peaked my interest in Eleanor Roosevelt.

Learn to celebrate the not normal

Read by the author, this fantastic thought provoking relatable book makes you think. You suddenly celebrate your oddest friends and don’t apologize for your non confirming children.

#unfilteredandunique

This was an excellent book. The unfiltered perspective was refreshing. Thank you for not being normal.

Blunt and nothing remotely normal

Kelly Cutrone has a voice and this book is about her telling us about her voice so we can find ours. It's her telling us about her religion so we can sit up and look deep into ours. It's about her life so we can examine ours. It's about accepting that normal isn't for everyone and when you dance to the rhythm of your own drum, it will take you to some fucking amazing places.
