relatable teachinh

Felt very natural and simple to follow. I am a more experienced guitarist brushing up ok basics but I still feel like at an entry level the teachings can be understood. It felt more like a friend showing you the basics than a school instructor.

Easy to comprehend

Sometimes I find it hard to comprehend when listening to an audio book. I did not have that problem with this book. It was really easy to understand and I love the free workbook that you get with it.

Well spoken audio. The book is packed full of information. Instead of being overwhelmed by what I thought would be a daunting task to learn, the author is a wonderful teacher making it easy to understand.

I've been mostly self-taught, and never really understood the "language" of guitar, but this book will help you speak it fluently. Get-at-er and kick it like Beckham!

Easy to Follow

I’m shocked at how much info is condensed into this short amount of time, while remaining easy to follow. The workbook and quizzes are super helpful. Definitely recommend for beginners.

Listen multiple times with guitar and it will startmake sense!

I’m 62 and now obsessed with learning guitar. I have devoured this book over the last 2 months. Finally, it has started to make sense! The audiobook is great to listen to in the car or anywhere. I listened all the way through and studied best I could, but I didn’t get bogged down knowing that I would be listening multiple times. Then after listening to it twice I did it with the guitar and I’ve gone through it two or three times with the guitar. Then I watched James’ videos on YouTube and it’s adds yet another good perspective. . I’m going to get Shipway’s two books other books on guitar theory. I now understand what a key means and much more. Great stuff James! Now how do I fret this F chord??

Why has no one ever explained music theory to me this way before! Love it. This book is making a huge difference for me.

Great for beginners

This audiobook has been extremely useful for me to understand music theory and how it relates to the guitar. I've listened to it several times during my commute and exercise. I review the PDF after my exercise to make sure my visualizations match up with the material being taught. I get a little lost in the second half but it's becoming more clear with each relisten. Highly recommend to add this to your queue to listen on the go.

Ties audio seamlessly with the book

It makes all the difference being able to hear the chords right alongside the narrative. He really delivers on breaking it down. I’m just getting my calluses back after 50 years, and this gives me a firm foundation as I jump back in! Well worth the time investment!
