About this listen

Dashing British stage star Hugh Davidson abandons his heart attack recovery in London to return to Rachael Reed, the love he left behind in New York City. While he’s been absent, she has stepped into the role of stage manager at the Classique Theatre off-Broadway, but her life isn’t exactly a dream come true. Her estranged husband, Danny, is stalking her around the city, trying to convince her to come back to him, and she can’t seem to shake him off. As Hugh gets jealous and protective, Rachael begins to worry more and more about the condition of Hugh’s heart, her own strong feelings about both Hugh and Danny, and what her next steps are going to look like.

Set against the backdrop of a romantic Shakespeare production, Hugh and Danny vie or Rachael’s attention, until tragedy strikes and Rachael is forced to come to terms with a difficult truth; she can’t forge ahead with her future until she spends some time dealing with the past.

Morisot delivers again!

I loved the first book in this series and the second did not disappoint! A lovely continuation of the romance, with wonderful twists and turns. The poignant ending left me with my heart in my throat, eagerly awaiting g the third installment.

Andrew Joseph Perez is a delight, voicing all the characters and never missing a beat!

Book 2 of 3. Hugh and Rachel are Back!

In book 2 of the 3 book Drama Games series, Hugh (a 45-ish famous British theater actor) and Rachel (a mid-20s dresser and theater back stage professional) continue to work through heart problems as Hugh returns to NYC to direct and Rachel works nearby. Delightful. Sizzling adult in a few plot appropriate spots.

Book 2 takes the drama to the next level!

Arielle continues the beautiful story of beautifully imperfect Hugh and Rachael. She creates her characters in such detail that I feel like I know them! And her storylines keep the surprises coming while never forgetting the love story at the heart of the book. Well done, looking forward to book 3!

a dramatic sequel to showmance

@ariellemorisot does it again! and @andrewjosephperez also killed it 🔥 we have returned backstage for book 2 of #thedramagamestrilogy and rachel and hugh just can’t find peace 😭

it’s hard to leave a review for a sequel without spoilers but…even though i still think i liked the first book better, the mystery elements added to this book gave me goosebumps. so creepy 😅 and can we talk about rachel and hugh’s communication skills?! they have grown so much as partners. i’m so proud of them and wish all relationships could communicate so clearly. can’t wait to get my hands on book 3!

thank you to the author for the #gifted copy in exchange for an honest review :)

Arielle and Andrew have done it again!

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Arielle Morisot has really hit her stride with this second book in the Drama Games Trilogy! I found the narrative voice and plot even more poignant and gripping than the first book, and the author seems to have kicked the heat up a notch; it felt like Rachael and Hugh's relationship was much steamier in this installment. Not only that, but the stakes truly feel higher, and the twists and overall suspense/mystery had me guessing at every turn.

Hugh is such a lovable goob. Not to be dramatic, but I would die for him. I enjoyed how the adults mostly talk out their problems, while still acknowledging their issues with insecurity and jealousy. I also laughed out loud at Andrew Joseph Perez's incredible slew of accents! Bravo!

The ending is a HFN and seems to be setting up another book in the series with the same couple. It was a somewhat gloomy, bittersweet ending, but just a heads up for people who may like a lot more closure with their romance. Overall, I would highly recommend this audiobook.
