Rachael Nightingale is a workaholic theatrical dresser in the middle of a failing marriage to an alcoholic. Hugh Davidson is the passionate, middle-aged British stage star internationally renowned for his incredible Shakespearean heroes. When the two of them form a professional partnership, it isn't long before things begin to heat up between them, and the magic of the theater threatens to break both of their hearts in more ways than one. Rachael Reed is a married theatrical dresser and makeup artist who dreams of a life backstage on Broadway. When Rachael takes a chance and leaves her life in Philadelphia to become Hugh's personal assistant, he promises that he'll help to fulfill her career dreams.

Dashing British stage star Hugh Davidson abandons his heart attack recovery in London to return to Rachael Reed, the love he left behind in New York City. While he’s been absent, she has stepped into the role of stage manager at the Classique Theatre off-Broadway, but her life isn’t exactly a dream come true. Her estranged husband, Danny, is stalking her around the city, trying to convince her to come back to him, and she can’t seem to shake him off.
