About this listen

The Zandians have taken back their planet. Now they need brides. All human females have been assigned to mates. Yes, mates, multiple. I've been given to three handsome males - cousins. Huge, purple and horned, they act like they want to eat me for breakfast. After what I've been through with previous slave masters, I don't know how I'll survive this. But I have to.

It's adapt or be sent off-planet, which would mean my death, considering I'm wanted for murder. My mates cannot find out I'm not able to reproduce. I need to keep my secret, figure out a way to survive, stay focused. But when the Zandian warriors claim me, they make me forget my past and scream with pleasure. I can't let myself fall for them. If they learn my secret, I'll lose more than my life. I'll lose my heart.

Why the change in narrators?!!!!

I haven’t listened completely but the deep bass voices are gone. And he keeps saying “a-kre-she-in” instead of “ocretion”. And he makes Zander sound elderly. It’s so difficult to listen to. I feel so betrayed. I feel like I’m listening to a southern comedian instead of an erotic book. He just ruins the world the author built through Zandian Masters and the first book in this Zandian Bride series.

Narration

Worst narration I have ever tried to suffer through! I don’t know if I can make it out of the 2nd chapter. 😒

my poor ears

I wish that narrators had to submit sample before being given a job. unfortunately the narrator is not even close to being correct for this story or genre. I liked the story but it was hard to listen to.

Narrator kills it

Great story line, but the narrator is awful. Definitely would have been better with another narrator.

narrators

the aliens in this story sounded like they were from Alabama or Texas and the female sounds like an old lady

Contradictions galore

I couldn't get more than 1/3 into the book. The way that the males treat the lead lady is beyond eyerolling especially considering her background. It just couldn't hit a stride for me.

Another Great Zandian Story, Wrong Narrator

I love all the Zandian books... I have them all in Kindle and in Audio. This series has everything, suspense, well developed worlds, great male as well as female characters. I love how the characters actually interact between books, so you can follow along with glimpses of previously loved people! Renee has a way of stroy writing that brings you with her you can get fully immersed in her worlds I always want more! Laughter, sadness, hope... she takes you through a full run of emotions! And yea, I do enjoy the discipline scenes, she does them well!

In the 8 Zandian Masters titles the narrator is Jiraiya Addams... and he was AWESOME! I usually avoid this genre of books narrated by males because they seem to have trouble with female voices. Jiraiya was able to perform all the voices with a smoothness and believability that made the books so great to listen to.

This new narrator, Daniel Arden, is the reason I do not like male narrators in hot, steamy, romance... not only was his performance of the females extremely lacking and almost indistinguishable from the male voices, but he delivered in such a monotone as to make listening almost unbearable. I almost quit listening halfway through. The steamy scenes were read a voice which I can only describe as bored, no excitement, none.

Renee... if you are reading this please, PLEASE, go back to Jiraiya! I have already purchased the next Zandian Bride in audible, if I had listened to Daniel first I would not have bought it. I am wondering if whisper-sync will get me a better listen. I just don't think I can endure another reading by him.

I love, love, love your books... and will continue to buy everything you put out in Kindle. I just do not think I can endure this voice again.

narration issue

loved story but the narration is indeed an issue. The male did one voice great...sounded warrior like but the other two were indeed southern good ol boys. Not appropriate in a warrior! It did distract me.

Needs a female narrator

The story is great but I'm not sure whose idea it was to only have a male narrator. It was very off-putting to hear explicit sex acts narrated in first person by a male, when it was clearly a female speaking. Would have been awesome with 2 narrators
