He’s spent years as a hunter, but now he’s the one ensnared in a creature’s trap.
Ketahn did not want a mate. Fate has a different plan for him. When the queen he despises declares her intention to claim him, he retreats into the jungle.
What he finds there changes his world.
Small, delicate, and pale skinned, Ivy Foster is nothing like the females Ketahn has known. She’s not of his kind at all. Yet, the moment he sees her, he knows the truth in his soul—she is his heartsthread.
And now that he has her, he won’t let anything take her away. Not the jungle, not the gods, not the queen and her warriors.
Whether Ivy agrees or not, their webs are entangled. No one will ever sever those threads.

the story showed duality in cultures where the human female was much different than what would be perceived as savage to us of the "spidermans" way of lic8ng but that they both noticed intelligence and appreciation in the other.
I love that they took time to learn each other despite their difference and I cannot waut to start book 2
yes spiderman

People may laugh at me, but I actually love this series for its world building. We spend some time with Ketahn on his own, navigating the world for longer than you might expect before we get to the romance, and I applaud this. This allowed time to build the Vrix culture and history before we dropped humans into the mix.
I suggest getting all three books at once because this one does end rather abruptly and picks up exactly where it left off in book 2, and book 2 ends in a very dramatic moment. I read this series as it came out in ebook, but then waited for all three to be out in audio so I could get the whole story in one go and that was the way to do it.
The romance is so good. They start off kind of confused at being attracted to each other and build a friendship before getting romantically involved. That doesn't mean there isn't some exploration before the relationship starts, but you do get some nice yearning for the forbidden before realizing they should just get together.
Yes - the love interest is a sexy aracnataur, spider man. Tiffany Roberts makes spiders sexy successfully, somehow.
Alright, on to the audio itself. The narrators weren't my favorite, but I got used to them. Audio is my preferred format, and I really appreciate being able to multitask, so I was willing to put up with the audio to get my favorite alien spiders and be able to do stuff at the same time. There is a male and female narrator, and both don't really emote well. I also got the feeling neither could do voices of the opposite gender, and that's why they needed to swap out narrators every time a male or female character appeared. The male narrator at least had a different voice for narration versus speaking as a Vrix, but his voices between characters are pretty similar. The female narrator also had very similar voices for all the characters. I will say that when they were playing the main characters, they did a bit better than when voicing side characters. I was a bit distracted by the narration at first, but I got used to it and had such a blast with my spider romance and would still recommend this series to anyone who isn't arachnaphobic.
TL;DR - read this series, try to have all 3 books available for a continuous reading experience, great world building
