About this listen

An intriguing stranger. A time machine. A young woman intent on reclaiming her old life by stopping the mass shooter who took the life of her love. What could possibly go wrong?

College student, Kat Chambers, lived a charmed life that would rival any princess, until the night the man she planned to marry was murdered. In that moment, her beautiful dream turned into her worst nightmare, and her true love was gone so there was no one to wake her from the horror.

Sixteen months later, a chance encounter with an intriguing stranger leads her to the discovery of a time machine. Thinking it's a sign from the Universe and a way to get her old life back, she hatches a scheme to sneak into the lab to go back in time, and shoot the killer before he can execute his heinous plan.

However, from the moment Kat steps into the past, it becomes clear fate has an agenda of its own, and it's not at all what she bargained for.

Enjoyable book

This was a lot more suspenseful than I expected, being it was a time travel. I enjoyed the added physics details the author put in, showing she obviously did a good deal of research. Overall, the story and narrator were both entertaining. I'd recommend it.

Well that was quite the adventure!

Well that was quite the adventure, it started off emotionally intense to set the scene then the story built and quite frankly l cant say much more for spoilers other than l enjoyed the science and characters of the story.

A very interesting time travel

This is definitely not your typical time travel story, and I think that's why I loved it. It has pretty much everything... a women's tale of survival, a lot of suspense, a little romance, and some physics thrown in to boot! And all around good story and timely too.
The narrator did a great job too.
I would recommend it to everyone.

Great story

I really enjoyed this book. It moved a little slow at a times, but I liked the supporting science aspects to the story. The author clearly did her homework exploring the idea of time travel.
Some things were just a little too convenient, but I excuse those as part of the plot. Sometimes it's necessary.
I wish there was a bit more at the end.

Narrator did a great job with the story.

Maybe good for teens

I love time travel books so listened to this with high hopes. Unfortunately I was disappointed. First of all, I'm willing to accept much of works like this to be fantasy but there just has to be realism too. This one just stretched that far beyond what I found acceptable. Also, the story felt like it had been written by a teenager. This young woman who was supposed to be intelligent seemed to not have a viable brain! Last, the constant and repetitious references to "the Universe" was just beyond the pale. I personally do believe in the Universe as an energy but it isn't something you barter with (as she did) or treat lightly.

Not my cup of tea.
