A different take on a post apocalyptic story

A different kind of story where the hero is not a former military or security expert. Picking a retired truck driver was a good idea but I found that nearly every sentence could have been shorter whereas the explanation and description of people and events was just too long winded. But I found most of the story believable and liked to level of cooperation between neighbors refreshing.

I like how the main characters are all normal family type people trying to get through the start of a collapse.

Realistic & practical

I read a lot of books in this genre and this book was one of the most realistic I have read. Full of good prepping advice. Thank you.

To the point actikn

I enjoy this series because it doesn't drag on for weeks, months, and years. Every storyline is fast paced and a continuation of events from the SHTF event. A good read for this genre!

Frank sucks

The main character Frank has guns but no balls. He talks the talk, but will endanger himself and his friends instead of shooting anyone. I’m not sure I’m going to finish the story.

Peppers Dream

this is one of the best survival stories I've read. As a prepper myself I can say that an EMP is one of the only scenarios that truly terrifies me. the struggles that it would bring in the alarmingly fast timeliness are what makes it so unpredictable. E.E. Isherwood has captured so many emotions so completely that it's truly a must read. The realism is truly imperative in a story like this. The pacing of 3 books covering 4 days so thoroughly is everything I could ask for and more. the characters are all so well written that it truly feels like a neighborhood coming together. Having a series that you can learn SO much from while also enjoying every minute of the actual story makes this a series that I will be purchasing physical copies of and keeping in my safe. I see myself reading it many times over and I hope the author continues to write. This is honestly one of the most addicting series I've ever read. The audio performance is also well done! I every character is so well written that I feel it's easy to differentiate them all as is, but the orator does an amazing job at performing them all.

No gruesome, good story.

I have listened to many EMP books, many are so gruesome and bloody. This one isn't, that made this book easy to listen to.

I liked the story and the narration. I usually listen to Kevin Pierce, this narrator did a good job.

While a real EMP is a scary
scenario, this book gives hope if neighbors work together.

We would all need a Frank if that happens.

I do not particularly like Carmen and would prefer Frank with Penny but the story is interesting.

It was a good story, but the main character takes over, just takes over, and elects himself as the leader. Then he starts telling everyone what to do. It should be voted on. If they elect him, that’s different. Also, pretty sickening that he has a choice of 2 hot chicks…definitely a guy’s book.
