A surprising take on the classics

I enjoyed this story. A bit unbelievable in parts but it was an easy listen.

Tediously Enjoyable

The first part of this story is much too narrative and lacking very much cohesion to the storey which begins when they arrive in Trinidad. After which the story becomes much more concise and substantive. An overall good story with adequate narration. I think a more concise beginning in future endeavours would make the overall experience more enjoyable.

Very enjoyable

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed listening to this book. There were several interesting characters. I learned some history that I had previously been unaware of. I do enjoy fiction that weaves actual history into it. The narration was very good. He brought life to the characters and did well distinguishing them and with the various accents.

Loved It!

What did you love best about Mycroft Holmes?

The writers managed to capture the feel of the Holmes books while simultaneously presenting an entirely different type of story. It was a clever story with wildly intelligent characters and snappy dialogue. I found it very engaging.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters of Mycroft and Douglas were both fabulous. Douglas was as much the star of the story as Mycroft and their relationship was intriguing.

Have you listened to any of Damian Lynch’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to other Damian Lynch performances but I thought this narration was perfect.

Any additional comments?

Great book. I hope there is a sequel.
