About this listen

Kirk—whose life is cut short in a car wreck on his way home from work—wakes up in a fantasy world…

Middle aged Kirk has lost everything. Well, everything except his job. When he’s in a car accident on the way home from his job, it’s as if the universe has finally succeeded in taking everything from him.

When he wakes, he’s in a fantasy land… in someone else’s body.

Unexpectedly a child again in a new world, unlike the one he left, Kirk must make new friends, fit in, and learn to eke out a new existence. Disabled by the accident that led to the death of the child whose body he accidentally inhabits, Kirk must get clever if he’s going to find a way to survive.

I get the feeling the author doesn't like the genre they're writing in. it's well-written but cookie-cutter feel is accentuated by the lack of a passionate, human reader.

Well-written but generic

This is a very good piece of literature and I think that if done by the right person, they could make this book come your life more than is with just an A.I. reader

I would totally pay for a whole production of this

I thought the virtual voice wouldn’t be my thing but I was fairly impressed. I recommend trying it.

Better than expected

Great detail and thought put into the story painting a great picture, although the story is a little slow winding up.

New twist of an adult from Earth ending up as a kid in a D&D sort of realm with magic and low technology. Some bits started a bit rough, almost like it was an AI written story in spots but overall the concept is good and the later books really shine. I think the author had a bit of trouble trying to figure out the path to get from the beginning to where the idea really kicks off in later parts of book 2 through 4 (awaiting book 5 right now).

There's the usual computer narration glitches of "bow" being boʊ (like tying a bow) or baʊ (bending over for respect) as well as "Yeah" being "Yay" vs "Ya". Once you get past continual glitches ("Yeah" is used a lot in the book), the enunciation is clear and easy to understand for somebody with less than good hearing.

The books in this series are also longer than the usual 8-9 hour parts of stories stretched out to be as many books as possible for more sales, a practice which makes me abandon that type of marketing. This series does break between chapters but not simply stop in the middle of a paragraph once the 9 hour mark is met. Each story arc is moved forward to a low spot and some teaser for the next story arc is in place at the need of the book, they don't simply stop in the middle of a story arc which is another thing I like about these.

I would say new author but with ideas like this one I hope to see more from this author.

Great twist on the "LitRPG" type, more Isekai

I really enjoy this story so far. With the exception of a few small virtual voice errors, it flows very well. Inflections could be improved upon to engage the listener more, but what was written is very strong.

Creative Isekai

If you're familiar with the Isekai genre then this review is for you. I'm a fan of Isekai and I appreciate the depth of the protagonist. Some of the world overlap is common place but for the most part the depth of interactions are new. The AI voice is better than other I've heard. It's a little more smoother but there's a few hiccups. Yeah is pronounced yā instead of yeŭ. Kinda distracting.but as I said better than most.

AI Voice is above average

Narrators will make or break an audio book. This one killed this book. So dry an boring. No life just reading the book. I had to fight to stay awake.

Really like the storyline, no OP litrpg MC (as of yet) wish is refreshing. Well written and engaging, listened to it in almost one session. :)

The virtual narrator was a little flat at times, and I’m sure a professional narrator would make the story come even more to life.

Good Slice-of-life progression story.
