About this listen

Get ready to laugh out loud in the office from New York Times bestselling author Melanie Moreland

My new boss—Alexander Bane

Aptly named since he’s the bane of my existence.

Please isn’t in his vocabulary.

He grunts, growls, and demands.

If only he didn’t look so sexy when doing so.

If only his mouth weren’t so addictive when kissing mine.

He’s quickly becoming my favorite boss.

Which is wrong.

My new assistant is an unwelcomed distraction.

Snarky, witty, always smiling.

Constantly putting me in my place.

Making me second-guess my decisions.

I dislike it. Intensely.

Unless I’m kissing her.

Then Magnolia Myers becomes my favorite person.

Which I hate.

Two people working together, disliking each other.

Until they don’t.

Then the fun begins

HR has never been so entertained.

Author's note: For those on the lookout for a hero who's so charming when he's bossy that it makes you want to follow his orders just to keep him talking.

NARRATION
Type: Dual narration
Melanie Moreland narration adds the much need emotion for this character and it definitely made me feel like she was a friend telling me each and every detail of the gossip of her love life. John Lane narration took me a little to get into especially when he did the female voices (hehe).

STORY
FMC: Magnolia Myers
MMC: Alexander Bane
A comical story of a boss/assistant romance, this story was wonderful for the first half and then felt a little dragged threw the second half but it did get better. The situations through out the story had me giggling, the characters are amazing, and of its not as great as the first book BUT i liked this book as well. This is a carefree book that i used as a cleanser book between books and it definitely did the trick. I absolutely HATE pregnancies in books ughhhhh lol its a personal hate towards this trope or book situation.

Comical! Cutesy!

This Audiobook was funny and spicy! Magnolia is a sassy and smart assistant who isn't afraid of her boss, Alex's, grumpiness. He tried to deny his feelings only to fall hard for her. These two show how opposites attract.

I really like this story and it’s hard to find stories that are really good and straight to the point and the women aren’t crazy or gross

This must be one of the funniest books I've ever read. I laughed so hard, kicked my feet, giggled, blushed, and cried through this book. Melanie Moreland has outdone herself once again. Just when I thought I had her writing style figured out, she surprised me yet again. From the start, I knew I would love this book with Alexander Bane and Magnolia Myers and their undeniable chemistry.
"My new assistant is an unwelcome distraction. Snarky, witty, always smiling. She constantly puts me in my place, making me second-guess my decisions. I intensely dislike it—unless I'm kissing her. Then Magnolia Myers becomes my favorite person, which I hate."
Maggie's sassiness shines as she proves she's not intimidated by him and can match him step for step, all while being an exceptional assistant. She makes Bane's coffee, eases his office life, and deals with his troublesome mother. They always manage to find themselves in compromising situations, much to HR's dismay. I couldn't help but cackle. Love Hedgy. There were so many unexpected elements, and in true Melanie Moreland fashion, she had me reaching for tissues. I also listened to the audiobook on Audible, narrated by John Lane and Maxine Mitchell—you simply can't go wrong. This book is a laugh-out-loud, emotional roller coaster.

This is an ARC read.

I loved the performance and the story. The humor made it different. I’ve come to love Melanie’s books. I must add though that I hate the cartoon covers. I picture real people in these stories and the hot guys and girls are the images I see. The cartoon characters don’t hit the mark at all.

the humor was awesome

I absolutely love Maggie and Alex’s story, how they found their hea💜

Alex comes from old money, but doesn’t act like it, he’s very generous and caring, but doesn’t believe he’s capable of loving anyone. His mother is always putting him down and trying to get him to pair up with a social climber to improve his image.

Magnolia comes into his life as his personal assistant at his office and quickly turns his life around and quite hilariously turns his whole world careening into one HR misunderstanding after another!
He quickly realizes that he doesn’t want his quiet ordinary life anymore and craves his Maggie more and more every day.

The narrator’s voices were perfection 5 🎙️⭐️

Laugh out loud and swoons💕

Crossing the boundaries from professional to personal has never been as much fun as it is in My Favorite Boss. Bane and Magnolia light the pages on fire with their snarky banter and knack at finding themselves in inappropriate situations. Their story was an absolute delight and I absolutely loved their grumpy/sunshine dynamic.

Magnolia is such a ball of joy. She makes the best out of every situation and is unapologetically herself. Her snark and refusal to back down to her grumpy boss was so fun to read. Bane is grumpy, hard to please and absolutely obsessed with his new assistant. Underneath his rude comments and arrogant manner beats the heart of a softie. Magnolia helps him discover a side to himself that he never knew existed.

John Lane is perfect as the grumpy Bane and I loved his interpretation of this man that falls so hard for his assistant. Maxine Mitchell is always fantastic and she's exceptional as the sunshine that is Magnolia. I loved how these two narrated the audio and made me fall in love with this story all over again.

The sparks fly between Bane and Magnolia from their very first meeting and they just intensify with their every interaction. Add in an adorable kitten and laugh out loud office hijinks as well as a sweetly emotional story and you have another winner from this author. My Favorite Boss was sweet, spicy, heartwarming and a positively adorable read.
