About this listen

Agatha Christie’s most famous murder mystery, read by the inimitable Dan Stevens.

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside.

Isolated and with a killer in their midst, detective Hercule Poirot must identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.

Critic reviews

Praise for Agatha Christie:

“Need it be said – the little grey cells solve once more the seemingly insoluble. Mrs Christie makes an improbable tale very real, and keeps her readers enthralled and guessing to the end.” Times Literary Supplement

“A brilliantly ingenious story.” Dorothy L. Sayers, Daily Herald

“Ingenuity at its height … the idea is utterly novel, the setting a model of realism, and the characters a versatile, attractive crew.” Woman’s Journal

“A piece of classic workmanship .. exquisite and wholly satisfying.” News Chronicle

One of AC's best w the best narrator

There isn't anything I can say abt this celebrated novel that hasn't already been said. So I will concentrate on the narrator. Dan Stevens is fantastic. It sounded like a full cast of multiple ppl instead of one narrator. absolutely worth every penny.

An immortal classic

This is the one book I can read and re-read over and over. The narrator does a great job, adding just the right amount of character to the voices of the cast. A joy to listen to.
