About this listen
“Clever and entertaining, you’ll love this charming Golden Age mystery series. And the fashion is to die for!” - Molly C. Quinn, actress, Castle
There's a skeleton in the attic!
After a weeklong passage over the Atlantic from Boston to Liverpool, Ginger Gold arrives at her childhood London home--Hartigan House--to find decade-old remains from some poor woman on the floor in the attic. Ginger's Boston terrier, Boss, noses out a missing phalange from under the bed.
It's a mystery that once again puts Ginger alongside the handsome Chief Inspector Basil Reed. Who is the victim? And how did she end up in Ginger's home?
Clues lead Ginger and her good friend Haley Higgins to a soirée hosted in 1913 by Ginger's late father, George Hartigan. A shadow of suspicion is cast on her father's legacy, and Ginger isn't so sure she wants to know the truth about the man she dearly loved.
Ginger decides to host another soirée, inviting the guest list from ten years previous. Before the night is over, another person is dead.

Story
London, 1893: High up in a house on a dark, snowy night, a lone seamstress stands by a window. So begins the swirling, serpentine world of Paraic O'Donnell's Victorian-inspired mystery, the story of a city cloaked in shadow but burning with questions: Why does the seamstress choose to jump out of that window? Why is there a cryptic message sewn into her skin? And how is she connected to a rash of missing girls, all of whom seem to have disappeared under similar circumstances?

Excellent narrator
I found Elizabeth Klett on one of the Sara Rosett mysteries. Her reading in this series is equally excellent

Suspense and fashion
Lee Strauss has penned a fun and quickly paced cozy mystery. Well developed characters, plenty of twists, and enough suspects to keep you guessing. Elizabeth Klett narration was perfect.

Fun, quick listen
It is odd that no proof “listener” noticed that the name Ginger was used when referring to Grace and again when referring to Haley. Both occurred nearer to the end of the book.

Excellent for Angophils
The story was a tad bit predictable but not too much so. About half way thru I guessed who the killer was and why. So the reveal was kinda anticlimactic. However the characters are fun.

Story did not appeal to me.
I do listen to go to sleep and that it did. Voices not really my favorite. Too many he said she said. I am not sure I want to try another. It did put me too sleep.

so-so
Characters are flat and uninteresting. Too much "he said" then "she said" in the writing. I won't finish this series.
