About this listen

Jessica Fletcher knows better than anyone that creativity is meant to be nurtured. So when a young lady from Cabot Cove shows promise as a country-and-western singer and songwriter, Jessica and a local citizens’ committee send the talented teen on a scholarship trip to Nashville, Tennessee, where she can benefit from professional instruction.

But only weeks after the farewell party, Cabot Cove is shocked to hear of the cold-blooded murder of a brash country music publisher by Cyndi Gabriel, the beneficiary of Cabot Cove’s generosity. Cyndi’s mother begs Jessica to help her daughter, and Jess is soon traveling to the country music capital of the world to aid the wayward starlet.

Once there, Jessica finds that the bright lights and lilting melodies of Nashville hide the ruthless realities of the music business. It turns out that the murdered man was no country gentleman, with a list of ex-wives, cheated partners, swindled singers, and stolen songs that has Jessica swinging to and fro in the search for a killer. And if she can’t uncover the culprit soon, Jess knows that poor Cyndi will never get the chance for an encore.

Another great MSW listen

An easy, enjoyable MSW mystery. Sandra Burr narrates as the voice of Mrs. Fletcher very well. There was no graphic violence in this story.

Nice change of pace and great subject matter. Story lacked just a bit but still good.

Some inconsistencies, still a lot of fun

Jessica Fletcher in a Stetson. She's always up for something different. Decent story, fun read.

Accent changed ...

Sometime in the last few books the narrator gave up giving Jessica any kind of Maine accent. Angela Lansbury never used much of one, but this narrator started out using one. I sort of miss it as it made the books unique to listen to.

not a very good narrator

I think the story would have been interesting but I couldn't get past the narrators voice.

Not my favorite by far ..

Sometimes they blow the whole thing. Maybe it is just me as I love near Nashville. This is simply too fairy tale.
But you decide 🫢

Not as good as many

While many of these in the past have been very good I think this was by far the lamest and the most boring I’m not gonna buy any more of these I couldn’t believe how stupid it was… I’ll have to move on and find another series
