Terrible dialogue, terrible performance.

Did anyone even edit this or listen to the reading ? I found it really hard to listen.

I’m really not sure?

historically I’ve really enjoyed Bradley Wright’s books. Historically they have been read by Jarrett Lemaster. I’m not sure if I enjoyed this book and I’m not sure if it’s because of the writing or how incredibly distracting the narration was. Every woman has the same voice, every British person has a slight Irish rogue, every man sounds like the same man (including characters from Africa, who sound like basic white dudes). The only exceptions are one man who sounds like a throat cancer patient (he’s killed early- your ears are welcome, the other exception being the narrator, who sometimes is very clearly from the Midwest. ALSO I listen to it at 0.9 speed to keep myself from laughing at “just trying to get through it” cadence of narration. I will have to buy a paper copy to see if I actually like the book.
