About this listen

"Could you love me?" he whispered. The question stole my breath and burned my lungs in the silence that followed.

I wanted to answer, to whisper yes into the space between us, but I was afraid.

All Gesela's life, her home village of Elk has been cursed. And it isn't a single curse—it is one after another, each to be broken by a villager, each with devastating consequences. When Elk's well goes dry, it is Gesela's turn to save her town by killing the toad that lives at the bottom. Except . . . the toad is not a toad at all. He is an Elven prince under a curse of his own, and upon his death, his brothers come for Gesela, seeking retribution.

As punishment, the princes banish Gesela to live with their seventh brother, the one they call the beast. Gesela expects to be the prisoner of a hideous monster, but the beast turns out to be exquisitely beautiful, and rather than lock her in a cell, he offers Gesela a deal. If she can guess his true name in seven days, she can go free.

Gesela agrees, but there is a hidden catch—she must speak his name with love in order to free him, too.

But can either of them learn to love in time?

Contains mature themes.

it is a very creative story

I like that the story is quite creative and it promises sequels, as it has. I think my problem comes with the stalling of the story till the very end. It made me bore and didn’t let the story have more appealing. It is still worth reading and to enjoy a different kind of romantic fantasy.

Good quick read

Gesela’s parts were my favorite. She had decent character development. But Cas had the best character development out of everyone. I loved their cute mushy scenes even though they were gone over quickly. I did think there was a little bit too much smut I would’ve liked to have read more about them falling more in love with each other than the smut itself. But overall I give it a solid 4 stars.

Loved it.

Great story that held my attention. Kind of a mashup of several fairytales. Only complaint is that it was over too soon.

World building was great, contains mature themes

Great aesthetic and world building. Gives off similar vibes to the French Beauty and the Beast movie. The mature content was too much however, I would have liked less mature scenes with greater character building. That is saying a lot for me as I typically don't mind it. This ended up being more in the category of erotica.

Fantasy Romance

✨Mountains Made of Glass is Scarlett St. Clair’s new and enchanting fairy tale retelling and I DEVOURED it! I listened to the audiobook as I read along on kindle. The narrators were wonderful!

✨This story has darker elements, delicious banter, enemies to lovers, spice, and a story line that blossom into more tender moments. This novella was exactly what I was looking for when I picked it up! I loved the tension between these two characters ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Great story!

I loved this story! And I appreciate the two narrators for both perspectives of the main characters, Casamir & Gesela.

Love the story

Witty, funny and truly beautifully written…I love the sense of humor around all the angst making the characters more vulnerable and easily to associate with…the female narrator was difficult to listen to at times given the diction she provided to the storyline….however I lover the book and will be waiting anxiously for the rest of the series.

Book & Audio Review

I had been wait for the audible for this book and when I saw the notification pop up the other day I had to squeeze this read in! I enjoyed this different take on the normal Beauty & the Beast Retelling. There was a lot more depth considering it was a shorter book!

Gesela and Casamir had troubled past and really had no idea what love was or felt themselves deserving of it and I enjoyed watching it unfold! The tension was palpable and when the spice hit … damn it hit. I also adored the illustrations in the EBook! Excited to see how the rest of these books play out!

Good Retelling

I love a good retelling of a Disney story. This was a very sweet retelling of Beauty and the Beast (my favorite) I enjoyed the Narrators. Definitely a good Listen or even read.
