However, after reading Mission in Time, this might be the first time you actually find yourself believing in time travel. Imagine being sent on a time-travel mission expecting to arrive in a certain period of time and finding yourself in a very different era—a major period in the history of the United States. Imagine finding yourself with people totally unfamiliar with things you’ve been accustomed to all your life: your skills, foods, views on sanitation, means of travel, kinds of recreation and even your vocabulary. Imagine, too, that despite your advantage over the people you meet in history, you find yourself learning as much from them as they learn from you. Whether you’re a time-travel aficionado or a lover of historic novels, you won’t be disappointed with Mission in Time.

Fascinating Time Travel Story Line

This was an excellent “What if” exploration of time travel!
How do you cope?
What are your responsibilities?
Sort of a deep entertaining “prime directive” like story.
As a fan of the “time period”
This was very entertaining for me!
Virtual Voice sometimes made it so I didn’t know who was talking
I’m sure that will improve

Emotional Connection with History

Although an Artificial Intelligence may not understand how to convey emotion while reading, the author drew me in, making me feel the emotions in the story. At one point I had to pause the book just to take a moment to empathize with the characters . Through the emotional experiences of the characters , I learned historical facts and culture I did not remember studying in school. Because an AI reads the book, be aware that there is a list of characters in the beginning of the book. It’s a bit annoying to hear the seemingly random names. After finishing the book the names are more meaningful. Surprisingly the voice is not bad. It just takes a couple chapters to forget that it’s being read by an AI.

Great story bad ending

I loved how this story gave me a bit of history by giving actual facts, however I dislike the fact that it almost ended on a huge cliffhanger, in fact, it did end on a huge cliffhanger, and the ending left me wanting more. But there is no more there is no second chapter to this title.

Worth a listen time travel

Worth a listen if you like time travel stories. The virtual voice reader was actually quite good. I've listened to much much worse real life readers. Definitely worth a listen.

crappy ending and I do NOT like AI narration

Do we really have to listen to AI narration? That's garbage. We pay enough monthly fee to get a person to read the book. Come on Audible, do you NOT already make enough money that you have to try to skimp by not paying a reader? YOU SUCK AUDIBLE

ridiculous ending, the story was pretty good, but the ending ruined the book for me.

Author should be chastised for such an awful ending. it was like there was no ending, the book just stopped.

A hard to find good time travel book , Hopefully there is a second book , because of the way it ended

What I l wanted was a really-good time-travel book and instead I got a not-very-good historic-fiction book.

At least it was free.

Not a science fiction

Traveling faster than the speed of light to go back in time 200 years just so they can join some American war in the 1700s. Dumb!
