About this listen

The Hunter Becomes the Hunted.

The fearsome bounty hunter Tyrus Rechs has laid a careful trap to kill an elusive and powerful criminal known as Mister Zauro for crimes orchestrated on the planet Detron. But unbeknownst to the bounty hunter, another trap has been laid just as carefully ... a trap for Tyrus Rechs himself.

For Zauro is a Lizzaar, and Lizzaar crime lords are not without their defenses.

Rechs is mere moments away from finishing his termination when the counter-trap is triggered. In an instant the tables are turned, the hunter becomes the hunted, and it is Rechs who is on the run as he is battered by an army of mercenaries, assassins, and war bots led by a mysterious and ruthless killer named Mephisto.

Now Tyrus Rechs, the perpetual loner, must rely on a growing group of unlikely allies if he hopes to survive to see the end of ... Mephisto’s Game!

great read. surprisingly great narrator. give it a shot if you are on the fence!!

no one will replace bray and porter, but this narrator does an amazing job. it passes the GE vibe check for me. give it a shot if you are a fan of the series, you will not be disappointed.

love this offshoot series from GE verse. we get an insight to the big T. Rex what we learn about from the main series. additionally Mark's voice is perfect for these stories!

Delightful Dive Back Into Tyrus Rechs

Loved everything about this new release. Unlike other reviewers, I’m thrilled they used a new narrator. Despite the eloquence of Ray Porter, he made grizzled legionnaires sound like annoying adolescents. The story and deep delve into the life of the infamous bounty hunter/general was more than satisfying especially the further development of Baldur’s arc.

In Spite of the Unforgivable Lengthy Monologue...5 Star All The Way

The beginning of the book takes a new approach, or maybe Jason and Nick are just experimenting with how to frustrate pumped-up G.E. fans who would rather dive straight into the carnage and KTFs as quickly as possible. But I promise, it's all worth it in the end.

Before now, I have listened repeatedly to the previous Contract and Termination books, never getting enough of reliving the incredible experiences of the strong, flawed, and indomitable Tyrus Rechs. The two newest titles, "Mephisto's Game" and "Uncommon Valor," which I have already finished listening to, are just as awesome.

Thanks to Jason and Nick for continuing the series and promising more. And I dig the new narrator—just give him time, and he'll grow on you.

Not Ray Porter

I just can’t stand it when a beloved narrator is changed half way through a series! I gave this a try based on review and was disappointed. I feel like it did seem like a lot of monologue because there was no difference between characters - and there was a lot of that blah blah blah. I’m very disappointed.

The quality of writing went down in this book

I was put off for a short while with the new narrator. You get used to a certain voice and nearly all of the Galaxies Edge books are narrated by to amazing voices. But after five minutes, I fell into his rhythm, and the narrator was still an excellent choice.

Something about this book was just lacking, too often repetitive and seemed to be fishing for patron dollars. Tell me the five minutes, wasted on calling out all of the names that tires wrecks identified in that courtyard wasn’t overly ridiculous for something that should’ve taken only five seconds.

At this point, I feel like I’ve listened to two dozen of the books and this one was a pretty big letdown. I also feel like I met the pathetic charger Binks of galaxies’s edge in this book…

Don’t get me wrong you’ve got me hooked and I’m going to continue purchasing every audiobook in the series, but you guys let me down.

The first bad review I have written for the IP

blah blah blah so much monologs, eventually I skipped the first 3 chapters and after that I just gave up on the book entirely. Maybe I can force myself to revisit it one day. Otherwise the series is amazing, not sure what happened here.

Get to the point...

Drug on with endless internal monologues and descriptions seemly to the point of describing emotions of every grain of sand...I am a big fan of Galaxy's Edge books, but this one was a complete miss.
