I really wanted to like this book but its just not as deep as it thinks it is

Started out strong but chapter by chapter it just gets thinner and thinner till its completely one dimensional.

Really slow, almost DNFd but an ok read in the end

With speculative fiction, you never know going in if the "speculative" part is going to be a minimal part of the story and is used more as a framework for the author to explore a particular topic--in this case, grief. There's more to this very character-driven story than just grief but that's what stands out.

I found the main character a bit tiresome.

I think had I not been doing other things the first few hours of the book, I would have been too bored to continue. But I persevered and in the end it was an ok read.
