Things take an ugly turn when Picasso is charged with the murder of a prominent Portland businessman. The evidence against him is overwhelming, but Cal steps in to defend Picasso at Anna's urging. Suddenly, Cal finds himself pitted against the police, the media, and some of Portland's most powerful citizens.

Is Picasso being framed? And if so, is there a connection between the two murders? Cal's desperate search uncovers a dark web of blackmail, deception, and a lineup of suspects from Portland's A-list. As he peels back the layers of truth, he realizes too late that he has put both himself and Anna in the crosshairs of a ruthless killer.

This is hysterical!

I don't know which is funnier, the writing or the narrator! The writing is classic "B" movie, B&W, 1940s detective and the narrator's reading of the stilted, corny descriptions and dialog is Oscar Worthy. What a hoot! Enjoy.

Great book

I liked this book and the performances were excellent. The narrator has a nice voice that you can easily listen to for hours.

Good listen

Despite referring to a Glock 17 as a revolver (twice) it’s a really good listen.

Good book with Left leaning politics.

Definitely shoved the lefts viewpoints on you. Also had what they thought of as a Conservative. I have NEVER met a Conservative who acted the way this one is portrayed.

An easy listen

The story line was great, I couldn’t put it down, characters were awesome unlike some, it doesn’t force you to jump all over the countries having to figure out who and where now

Better then I thought it would be. I was a street kid so it hit home for me. Storyline is good, narration is good.

I really enjoyed the book. The storyline has an easy and natural flow. The mystery kept me guessing until the end.

I enjoyed the story development. The book highlights the struggle of the young homeless population.
