About this listen

Welcome to Maple Bay, a small town with heaps of heart—where family dinner is a must, and someone will always leave the light on for you. A romance series enjoyed by fans of Debbie Macomber, Jenny Hale, and Susan Mallery.

They aren't looking to rebuild a love from the past, but this renovation uncovers more than either of them expected.

Valerie Ricci is determined to nail together the pieces of her career after a messy divorce from her husband and co-host. Things are looking up when she lands her own fixer-upper TV show where she will design & renovate old homes across the country. It's her chance to prove to everyone she can pull in ratings by herself. Except the first house she must renovate is Evan Weston's—the man who broke her heart twenty years ago.

Evan Weston loves small town life, quiet evenings with his horses, and Sunday dinners with his close-knit family. He's worked hard to make a comfortable life for himself and his seventeen-year-old daughter, Issy—who he’d do anything for. Which is why he’s so conflicted when Issy surprises him with a camera crew and an ex-girlfriend he hasn’t seen in nearly two decades.

No one else has any idea Valerie and Evan dated, and they plan to keep it that way.

But as they tear down the walls of his old farmhouse, they can't help but uncover new layers of their shared history. Will they build a new connection on an old foundation, or is this one restoration that isn't built for a second chance?

Lovely love story without the panting.

I enjoy the romance suspense drama stories, but for me, there seems to be a little too much detail and panting. The suspense gets to be a little gory & I live alone, so I really don’t listen to them after 7pm!
Although the story was somewhat predictable, I still loved it. It was a nice simple, classic love story reconnection (which made me think about a reconnection. I always hope would happen, but never did.). It just validates that sometimes good people have things that happens to them and they just don’t recover.. I enjoyed the storyline. I enjoyed the independence and the growth they both had to go through to circle back to one another. It was also nice that they understood that 20 years ago just wasn’t their time and they needed the growth to move forward and be happy and successful again. Overall, I love the story.
