About this listen

The war continues...and the body count rises.

With humanity joining the alliance to fight the Naxli invaders, the war should be turning in their favor.

Unfortunately, the enemy must not have gotten that memo.

Across the galaxy, the Naxli strive for total domination. To create a stronger resistance, Gunny Pelletier is sent to work with the various races, but he and his team soon discover that reaching common ground and coordinating military action is far more difficult than they’d imagined.

But the Naxli aren’t pausing to give the allied races time to work out the kinks, which means it's time for humanity to go at it alone once again. Bureaucracy must wait while Marines do what Marines do best.

Besides, humanity owes the Naxli a few paybacks, even if the rest of the allied races are not willing to join the mission.

Get ready for the 11th entry in the Dragon Award-nominated series from USA Today best-selling authors J.N. Chaney and Jonathan P. Brazee.

Pulpy but enjoyable.

This is not the best military sci-fi I have read, but it is not bad. I have preordered the next in the series.

Hit me like sledgehammer

I hope not to spoil anything. One segment literally had me tearing up. This author hit the nail on the head with choices you make in critical circumstances and what it means to live with them. Incredible.

Books less than 10 hours are hard on the wallet compilations are so much more enjoyable.

Another Great Book in the Sentenced to War Series

Of all of JN Chaney's books, the Sentenced to War series is my favorite. This book continued the exploits of Rev as he fights for humanity while making both friends and enemies. As all the books in this series, this one was action-packed, and Rev was put into very difficult situations where life and death were one good or bad decision away. As Rev has gotten older, he has settled into an excellent Gunny who has to balance the mission objectives with the lives of his Marines. He is thoughtful and compassionate, but with the warrior spirit. I look forward to his further adventures to see how he grows as a man and a Marine.

Another great story

Another great addition to the series, the story grows with every iteration. The military drill and ceremony is accurate and reminds me of my time in the Army all in all great book can’t wait till the next comes out.

Loved it BUUUT annoyed at lack of correct military acronym pronunciation.

CASEVAC is pronounced (Kaz Evac) Casualty Evacuation. COB (See Oh Bee) close of business. If the Camp is Spelled Nguyen then it's sound like (Win/Wynn). If you ever say DEFAC don't say D E F A C say (Deefak) Dining Facility.

Other than common mispronounced acronyms, this series is great. TO&E ( Tee Oh And E) prattling on. Still a Great Series. Glad I found it.

Story starts off slow but…

The first half of the book with Rev and Tomico undercover is a real snooze fest… The last half of the book is much better. I
Give the first half one star and the second half five stars.

Medal for Rev are not the same

The medal Rev getting in the book is not right with the series are wrong. He will be getting his third gold nova, not his second, because Rev got the second gold nova at the end of We are the God of War. He will be getting his first sliver nova, not his second sliver.
