But when the aliens launch a viscous new attack, right on the Enclave's doorstep, Kate and Manu must join forces to stop the raptors before more people get hurt. Kate will fight fiercely to protect her team and the base, as well as her heart. But Manu Rahia is a man who knows what he wants, will walk through fire to get it, and what he wants is Kate.

What a story! When Manu and Kate find themselves in the tunnels, I was on the edge of my seat. These two characters were so tough. Kate was a strong female character who took her role seriously and especially the safety of her team. Manu and Kate connecting helped Manu to further come to terms with losing his leg. Hope there are more adventures with these two.

Awesome story in a well developed world

I have read every book in the Hell Squad series and am a fan of the series. The books are best read in order because of the backstory and also, visits from the prior characters but you won't be lost if you start here too. Get ready for an exciting ride! This story follows Manu of the Berserkers. (there are a few main squads that fight against the raptor like aliens who have taken over the world and destroyed most of humanity) The Berserkers are the ultimate bad boys and Manu lost a leg while fighting recently. Kate is the head of security of the enclave where they live. Together, they have to undertake a dangerous mission to keep the bad guys at bay. Every book in this series is exciting with a wonderful romance between 2 characters but also, showcasing a great group of people who are trying to find hope and happiness in a very dangerous time.

This is the first audiobook I've listened to in this series and I think the narrators do a good job of playing the characters (even when they have to switch roles). They add emotion to the story and adequately provide a feeling of danger when it is called for. I'm looking forward to future books and audiobooks from this author!

I love Manu and Kate! Both tough with scars from the past. Older wiser and a bit afraid of opening up. But this relationship felt so real people over 40 can find the love of a lifetime and a passion that is like no other ! Highly recommend. The performance of Jeffery Kafer and Samantha Cook was terrific. They do an amazing job bringing my favorite characters to life. ♥️🔥♥️🔥♥️🔥

This series is a TREASURE

Okay I have read pretty much everything Anna Hackett has on Audible. And I think she is SO underrated. There have been books that have changed my life, given me different perspectives about myself and my place in the world. That is NOT what these are. But these are without a doubt one of the reasons that I am and have been able to maintain a reasonable level of anxiety during a very stressful time. These are books I re-read. Sometimes I listen to them to fall asleep. These are bright, brilliant, surefire, tried-and-true comfort. The most delightful escapism. The characters are great, the romance is sweet, the plots are good, the sex scenes are hot but not too much. The world building is captivating! Hell Squad is a great concept! And think about this if you are a fan of Anna Hackett. SHE NEVER DISAPPOINTS. If you pick up one of these books, it is going to be exactly what you want. It's formulaic, but not so much that the books or characters run together. It is formulaic in the best possible way. And almost all of Hell Squad is on Audible Escape. All her series are good but Hell Squad is probably my favorite.

Smexy Alien Romance.

These are all good books and I recommend reading them in order, I personally waited until there was Site Wide sale on Audible and got them all as they are all along the same lines, unfortunately they are short, so I don’t recommend a full credit on them. They are best if read in order as the story line progresses, start with Marcus. If you are like me and love a good alien romance this is a good choice in a series. Like all series you have your favorites out of the bunch. Narrators are good.

Book 16

Another great story in the Hell Squad world. Manu Rahia, brother to Tane and Hemi, and Kate\ Scott, head of security for the Enclave are wonderful together. And while they are more mature than the rest of our heroes, they are no less HOT. As with the rest of the series, Manu keeps the pages turning in a fast pace plot that is an exhilarating ride. Enjoy!

Exciting

Another good addition to the series; it has been a wild ride. Loving this series; it has everything this genre has to offer; lots of action and adventure; drama, love and friendship, camaraderie, etc. The banter between love interests is hilarious. Looking forward to listening to the next book! Both narrators do a fantastic job with characters.

Love that Manu is getting his story told here, and that he and Kate find their way through all the dangerous obstacles to each other.

Book 16 and I'm still hooked.

Manu

Manu and Kate’s relationship wasn’t the love a first site variety but grew after several miscommunications that caused them to rethink their actions. Then a sizzling slow burn caused them to accept their mutual attraction and jump in full steam ahead! I liked how active Manu was in spite of him having a prosthetic leg that didn’t slow him down at all!!
Kate was loving and accepting of Manu just as he was after reconciliation of her own self esteem issues! They were good to and for one another!! I liked that they were seasoned lovers too!
