Albany Walker is the best!

Frankie was a bit annoying, her insecurities were a lot at times but the story came together nicely.

Not Bad and not Great

I have read/ listened to other books by this author, and this is certainly not the best or the worst. Additionally, the performances by the voice actors were lacking. I would say it's just okay in every way. The thing that makes it worth the credit is you get all 3 books.

it's a deal

Three stories for the price of one, excellent duet narration, and it's Albany Walker. The woman knows how to write an entertaining story.

Unstoppable duet trilogy

I love Frankie and her guys. She's a total bad@$$ and is constantly getting herself in AND out of sticky situations. I listened to all three books in two days, since they're completely unputdownable and the duet format makes the audio version even better. I hope to hear more from both the Magical Bureau of Investigations and these narrators.
Mystery, why choose romance, magic and slow burn steam - this has been the perfect weekend listen! 100% recommend!! ❤️

I absolutely loved this book wise I could get more about there adventures I need to know what happens to remi and his career and a Felix joins the academy I need to hear about more adventures with them!

painful! weak character development. no story

So in the last year and a half I've listened to 400 audiobooks and have 8 months + of listening time. I drive for a living. I've only written two other bad reviews, and this book is going to be my third. there was so much gaslighting in this book. It was bad. There's really no story at all and there's only a medium amount of spice. So there's not a real good balance either way. If you're not going to have a story, have more spice if you're not going to have a lot of spice and have more story. The characters were so disjointed from one another. I felt like there was no real character development except for the familiar and even that was pretty lackluster. To me this felt like somebody just finished their undergraduate in literature and wanted to write a dirty book.
The narrators were pretty decent. The only downside was there wasn't enough vocal change in the male actor's voice. So when he played the main character's dad and then the boyfriends it kind of got a little cringy. The speed of the narration was a little too fast if you run the book at .95 it actually feels like a better tempo for the narration. The female narrator did a good job. I actually liked her voice. Despite her good narration, it could not salvage this book.
It's poorly thought out I don't recommend it at all. I mean you can take your own risk and listen to it, but I did my part as a good person to forewarn you before you make that purchase. If you take it on, I wish you the best of luck. I really hope you enjoyed it more than I did.

Another great story from Albany!

I love all of the stories written by this author. She constantly nails it with her stories and with excellent narration for all of her audiobooks. It really brings the stories to life.

Frankie and her guys go through some tough times but I loved reading about how they came back to together and they relied on each other. How insecurity from your youth can have a lasting impact but it doesn’t need to be forever.

This was a great read and I enjoyed the cases that Frankie worked. Reminded me a bit of Anita Blake in that respect.

Read this, listen to this, enjoy this by any means necessary. You won’t regret it!
