Niamh ‘Luxe’ Finnegan is trying to move on with her life after losing her last known family member to cancer. Søren reveals truths about Luxe that change her life irrevocably. Her dormant magical abilities awaken as her world spirals. If the fae queen knew Luxe’s true identity, Luxe would be dead already. As it is, the queen is growing curious about Luxe, which means she is in danger.
Fleeing with Søren, she embarks on a perilous journey, joined by two other high fae, Alistair and Calix. Surrounded by the three powerful fae males, Luxe finds herself in precarious situations concerning both their lives and their hearts. Together, they attempt to unlock her magical potential, as they unravel a prophecy about the fae monarchy and avoid the queen’s clutches.

Got me out of my high stakes slump.
Since taking mental health break from Iron flame halfway through I haven't been able to pick up anything else except cozy stories and dark romance. I picked this up on a whim because my local bookstore was featuring it for a book club event. I finished in 4 days. As a mom of 3 under 4 that was a FEAT and entirely due to Caras writing. Luxe and her boys are the most relatable main characters in any high stakes fantasy I've read in the past 4 years. I'm excited to start the next and delighted that Cara ended up making this a why choose.
As for the author herself I was fortunate enough to be a part of a live Q&A with her. She is sweet and humble and LOVES her characters.
This might be the best blind pick of a book in my entire life. Thank you Cara!
