This title has some interesting concepts, but the story is 70% chaotic fighting, 20% setting the stage for chaotic fighting, and 10% plot. This might appeal to some, but not me. Great narration, though.

The story was really imaginative and graphic
the story was interesting and well performed, some of the story elements disappeared sadly like the intro mind controlled humans or scary weaponry, ancient near magical ships. it all boiled down to yesterday's news and taken for granted very fast feeling

Cheap, but hard to find the will to finish.
No real reason to invest in the characters due to them always surviving due to nano bots or AI this and that. Dialog was off. It was like a teenage sitcom of fake interactions. Self loathing anti hero main character got old. AI "snark" is low brow and reminiscent of an annoying coworker you can't do anything about. On last book of box set and can't go on. Chapters are a few minutes long. So, basically when it's about to go to commercial break, chapter ends. It is rough having that many interuptions. It to goes to the next chapter in the middle of an event, just to continue the event. A short sequence of maybe 15min total, is broken into 6 chapters a few minutes long.
