I had my whole life mapped out in front of me from childhood. I was going to marry my best friend, and we were going to have a perfect life together until we grew old and died together. Funny how life isn’t so simple as we would like it to be. Marrying my childhood best friend seemed like everything was going to be perfect. One night, my best friend, my love, my husband was snatched away from me in a blink of an eye by death himself. After a year, I sold everything and moved away from our home, our past, to start anew.

One chance meeting in a club where our best friends meet throws me and Eric in constant contact with each other. He’s sexy as all get out, but his career puts his life on the line every day of the year. Knowing the pain of losing the person you love to death, I vowed to keep my heart away from Eric. The only problem with this is Eric awakens a part of me I never knew existed. He pushes me at every turn to go outside my comfort zone. To give him a chance with my heart with my future happiness. Can I let a man who could awaken a whole new me in to heal wounds left behind by life and death?

Great short story

This story was good as a short story. I really hope the author can go back and extend the story. There is so much that can happen with a story like this!

A little too short

This book definitely has potential to be really good.
I think it just needs to be beefed up a little so we can understand the story better. There are some ideas that were started but it didn't feel finished. The nature of the relationship was also a little hard to understand with the snippets we get to see. Otherwise it's not a bad story.
Narration was good.

Amazing book

I throughly enjoyed listening to this book. I laugh and cried at the lost and was happy for new life. The narrator was amazing in voicing the story.

Easy listening

Cute story, clearly talented writer but perhaps not her best work. Not a lot of depth but a fast cute listen. Loved the narrator but I did not think this was the correct protagonist for her. Would like to her her in a bit deeper feistier story.

not a misty fan

Misty was an emotional wreck with am emotional hair trigger due to he husband's death. I know from experience it's hard to do but she's OTT cray cray. Why should Eric have to work do hard to wake misty up???? Unfair!! After one bed encounter she's an addict!! Then she gets cold feet and freezes eric out. Why does tragedy have to happen to make misty be honest?? Frustrated and furious with wishy washy misty. Grrr... I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

Ok book

This book didn't really do it for me. I found Misti rather annoying. She couldn't make up her mind about Eric. She liked him, but she couldn't be with him because of his job. He must really have liked her to put up with her.
