Acerca de esta escucha

It was the prettiest valley in the High Sierra. And it could be all his if he only married a woman he had never met.

Jack Tanner had drifted from job to job. A natural loner, the last thing he ever expected was to end up married to a stranger and owning a beautiful valley. And now, just as he was beginning to put down roots for the first time in his life, someone wanted to take it all away from him.

He’d die before he let that happen.

Mail-order bride Jenny O’Neil was coming west to marry Nathanial Parker only to find out he had been murdered. And here was this tall cowboy telling her that Nathanial had left his valley to them. But only if they married.

A business arrangement, Mr. Tanner called it. Not a true marriage. But what choice did she have? Penniless, no home to go back to, alone in a different world. She had already committed herself to marry a stranger. Although, she had never imagined marrying a man like this. Tall, rough around the edges, and with eyes that touched her soul.

Someone has killed and would try to kill again to get their valley. Struggling together, the two of them will fight for what is theirs, growing closer all the while. Both of them wanting more than a cold business arrangement. Both of them coming to want a true marriage.

LONESOME VALLEY BRIDE

This is the first book in this series. Jack comes upon this valley and sees a man being killed. He tries to help him but its to late. He has a mail order bride orderd. He offers Jack the deed to the whole valley if he will go and meet his bride and marry her. He does and she agrees because she has no other options. They have to learn each other and tackle all the problems living in the wild brings. There is other people that wants the valley. A range war is breaking out. Ive had this book for a while and hadn't got around to listen to it. If I had any idea it was this good I would have listened to it as soon as I got it. The endind is great. Gus Farror does a good job narrating this book. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.

Good

A different twist on a mail order bride story. A dying man ask this stranger to marry his mail order bride, and he would have the land in the valley as his own. For him being a drifter from job to job. Thoughts of marriage never entered his mind, Good story of those days, enjoyable and good narration.

Clean and sweet

Sweet historical romance. Good writing with lovable characters. The narrator detracted from the story and is the only negative I have to say about it. If you are in the mood for a clean romance set in the old west, this might just be the book and author you are looking for!

Enjoyable Pioneer Romance

This is not your typical formulaic romance tale. The story starts off with a bang (literally ;) ) and rollicks along at a good pace introducing us to lonesome valley and the side characters over the first half of the book. I found some of the emotional oblivion of the leads a little frustrating and wanted to shout 'get over yourselves you stubborn losers' but it all added to the build up and connection with some fun characters.

I was not sure how I would go with a male narration with female characters but found Gus Farrar to more than reach the requirements for an excellent narrator with just the right style.

I was not so fond of the cover. This book seemed to be more than the cover suggests.

Looking forward to Books 2 & 3 with anticipation.
