Story is lovely. Narrator & pacing had issues.

The narrator was great minus a couple things that bothered me quite a bit. Excruciatingly long pauses in between sentences, but the speech was so fast otherwise I couldn’t speed it up. Secondly— and super nitpicks— she was not pronouncing t’s fully, which normally wouldn’t be an issue but hearing it over and over again was an auditory trigger for me. I recognize that could fully be my own sensory issue, but it really did affect my listening experience. I will say that it seems like she has corrected this in her more recent narrations so I am looking forward to giving her another shot!

Last 10 chapters really dragged on. At a point I said aloud “ok, enough already!” Book could have been wrapped up much sooner than it was. The adventure trip at the end and everything associated with it seemed superfluous and a little bit like “why don’t we just toss the kitchen sink in there, too”
